Stayed with Isobelle for 2 weeks, I was made to feel very welcome throughout my stay, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are very large, clean and the decor is great. Breakfast was lovely, there was lots of choice, I had fruit salad every day as I had opted to eat my evening meal there as well which I cannot recommend highly enough, if you visit have at least one home cooked meal there, i promise you wont be disappointed.

Lovely spacious ensuite room. Great views from the front of the house. Isobella is a great character, entertaining, helpful, knowledgeable. But the highlight without question is the cooked breakfast. Best cooked breakfast I have had. I've now stayed there twice - and couldn't believe that the breakfasts tasted even better this time. And if bacon etc isn't your poison, worry not. The lady caters for veggies, vegans, gluten-free diets, porridge-lovers etc. A wee gem of a place.

We were in Derry for about 5 days at a sporting competition. We wanted a home like feeling and after reading the reviews for Nightingale House went ahead and booked our room. We were not disappointed and it's no wonder the charming, wonderful and amazing Isobelle has such great reviews. It really was a home away from home.

The rooms are clean, well laid out and spacious. It's an awesome breakfast that Isobelle makes herself, to order. It's not far from the city center (we had a car but we walked as well). The place has everything you would expect from a well run boutique B&B but that's not what makes it awesome. It's Isobelle.

I was feeling under the weather one day and was going to order in takeaway---Isobelle offered instead that I could eat a beef curry she made---it was so generous and a good curry besides! We also needed an extra cot in the room for our last night and she did that free of charge...and also our laundry! She also made me an amazing hot toddy for my cold and all in all makes the B&B a cut above the rest. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone coming into Derry. Isobelle is a local who knows everyone and everything and thus also makes a good resource on exploring the area.

Thank you, Isobelle, for making our trip amazing. It would not have been the same without you :)

I stay at B&Bs regularly for sporting fixtures. While I prefer hotels, often B&Bs are closer to our events and therefore are more suitable. First impressions last. We called the B&B owner to get directions, which she was completely incapable of giving. When we finally got to the B&B we were greeted with a tirade of abuse about not being able to find the place. The house and food are above average compared to most B&Bs, but I didn't feel at all welcome here. Perhaps a more welcoming approach would encourage repeat business.

Beautiful bed and breakfast furnished to a very high standard. Very comfortable accommodation. Food was fabulous and owner was every friendly and generous. Set in a beautiful residential part of the city but within easy reach of the city centre. Loved the four resident cavalier king Charles spaniels who were very friendly. Will be back

We absolutely loved our two nights with Isobel and wished we could have stayed longer. She really made our stay there and she had excellent advice on where to eat and what time to go, Quaywest is the best.
The room was absolutely beautiful, her decorating style is very good and adds a lot of interest to the room. The bed was a dream and the doona felt like a little cloud laying over the top of you keeping you warm.
Isobel was so keen to make sure you had a good time and that you got everything you wanted, just as you want it for breakfast. We really enjoyed our chats, and lots of laughs with Isobel. Fingers crossed she gets to come out to Australia one day as we would love to show her the same hospitality here, that she showed us in Derry.

I have been staying in Nightingale house for 3 years now every time i visit Derry and have always meant to write a review.
The proper itself is stunning. Extremely spacious and spotless! The attention to detail is superb. The hallways and corridors are decorated with a collection of local artists and and cute touches be seen at every turn.
The stay and experience of guests has been well thought out.
The bedrooms are decorated like you are living at home with art, beautiful chairs and furnishings adding to your stay. Not like when you stay at a generic hotel room! Each room has its own warm vibe and personality!!!
Sumptuous pillows and bedding, plush carpets, en-suites bathroom stocked with mini beauty products (incase you forgot anything), bathrobes and a wide variety of tea and coffee facilities.
There are two drawing rooms at the front of the house where you can lounge and relax and look out onto the beautiful gardens.
One of the drawing rooms also doubles as the breakfast room which leads to the patio dining area. A vast array of food options await you!
If you have special dietary requirements you are well looked after. From soya milk to an abundance of cereals, granola, dired fruit, fresh fruit and berries, yoghurts, lots of different juices, condiments etc! Not to mention cooked breakfast if you wish!
The owner, Isobel, clearly takes pride in her home and above all, the service which she provides. She has created a BnB which is so much more and truly rivals any hotel I have stayed in!
Your experience and stay is a well thought out and attentive one which leaves a lasting impression. This keeps me returning time and time again.
