Detailed Reviews
We won't add a lot, all previous reviews tell the story right and do justice with this business.
I would just like to say that we really valued the fact the owners put our hand washed clothes in their dryer, folded them back and put back in our room. Thank you.
DaVinci's restaurant across the busy road (part of the Ramada hotel) is a major plus. We did not want to drive to town at night after a long day on the roads and that was a great solution. Prices are a bit steep but the food is absolutely top notch, plus there is a bar adjacent to it that perhaps also serves food during the earlier ours of the evening for more modest prices.
Thanks Anne and Michael (and the daughter),

The welcome was warm and the food was delicious. I am gluten intolerant and they went out of their way to ensure that I wasn't left out of their menu. Not only did they have gluten free biscuits in the room for me (and 'normal' ones for my family), but their breakfast included gluten free cereal, bread, sausages - I enjoyed a full, cooked breakfast. Such thoughtfulness and a lovely reception and stay had. The room was airy and very clean. There were clean towels, lovely shampoo, conditioner and shower gels available. The B&B is located just far enough from the main road so that you can have a quiet sleep and the surroundings are just so beautiful, you wouldn't even know that you were in the city. The hosts couldn't be more accomodating!

Ann and Michael were absolutely delightful. Ann was right there to take care of our every need. Could not have ask for a more friendly couple. Would stay there again in a New York minute.

The room was large with modern bathroom and nice view. The breakfast room was very pretty. Food was just okay. We had much better breakfasts at even cheaper places. The owners seem to be rather distant and we had very little interaction with them. I think they bought this old mansion to restore it and found they had to rent rooms out to afford to do it but their hearts are in the restoration piece, not the customers. We had to either drive quite a way to Derry for a restaurant for dinner or walk across a very busy arterial to a chain hotel with restaurant or three take out places. Steep stairs go up one and a quarter flights to the 3 rooms on one floor that they have restored so far. We had asked for a ground floor room, but they did not tell us they did not have one. Most of the rest of the building except the first floor (kitchen, breakfast room and owners' quarters) seems to still being restored. Parking is a little odd on a long looped driveway through the property.

Stayed there this past month. Not recommended. Food was poor, not what we were lead to believe. While the hosts were friendly they need to work on their hospitality and presentation. Food on side table looks like from bulk store still in jars and original containers. Wifi reception poor and bedding looked dirty.

If you plan to go to Derry, don't stay anywhere else. We spent two days at Troy Hall and would certainly recommend it to our friends...and have, actually! The house is wonderful, and beautifully restored. Our room was palatial...and very comfortable with all the extras that some B&B's do not have: tea makings in our room, fresh milk, and facecloths (the absence of which in UK establishments is often a surprise to Canadians.) Breakfast was huge and tasty (I even ate black pudding for the first time!) Ann and Michael were lovely and helpful. Ann booked us into a walking tour of the city covering both history and politics ...really interesting! We highly recommend doing this! I was even updated by Ann on the latest Coronation Street gossip....although my husband found this less interesting than I did...there's just no accounting for taste! We walked back and forth to the city center each day and again for dinner...about a 20 minute walk. Troy Hall and Derry turned out to be one of the highlights of our 3 week visit to Ireland.

After some online research we picked Troy Hall for our 1 night stay in Derry. Im glad we did ! As other reviews have said the rooms ( 3) are of excelent standard .In fact i have never stayed in a nicer B and B room ! Id say its a 4 or 5 star B and B. The host family is very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was of equally high standard. My only small critism is that when I returned back from the pub at 2.30am. I couldnt get in as I had only keys for two doors and there was 3 doors locked ! Had to wake my wife up with a call to her room and she came down and let me in !
It is located a wee bit from city centre which makes it easier to drive to. It is 15-20 mins walk from center or a few mins taxi. Excelent, quiet location.

Traveled to Derry / Londonderry with 2 adults + 2 kids. Troy Hall was a great experience. Room was spacious, clean, modern bathroom. Beautiful victorian finishes. Good size room for a family of four. Breakfast was great. Hosts were very courteous and helpful. Would have no hesitation in recommending this B&B.

What a place the the house is stunning! the rooms are even better!
The owners are fantastic and are Flexible which is great when your not running on normal hours.
The place is so quite and that makes for a great sleep, and the parking is of street so your not up worrying about your car.
This is probably the best spot I have ever stayed and I have been to a few B&Bs
When am back in the area I Know where I will be staying

Recently stayed three days at Troy Hall for a family wedding. Totally enjoyed the five star accommodation and hospitality and outstanding service. The owners bent over backwards and succeeded in making our stay the most enjoyable we have had at any bed and breakfast. We would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone visiting Derry City. We will definitely be returning!
