Stayed here for a night with my family, was our first time in a B&B but I loved it. Barclay is the owner, and he is really helpful in directing you where to go to see the nearby sights. Good breaky the next day too. Didn't like the bed though, was a spring mattress that sunk in the middle, meaning...

Very warm welcome from the host Berkeley who provided good advice on places to eat in the town. Spotlessly clean and well fitted quiet rooms complemented by a hearty breakfast in the morning - overall great value for money. This is an excellent B&B and as it is just around the corner from the Ballycastle pier it was a very...

An Caislan was the perfect stay in senter of Ballycastle. A short distance from the main town and to the harbor with the nice beach. Very nice rooms. Super hosts and food. Well taken care of. Everybody should go there!

Spent two nights here while touring the coast and was very happy with the B&B. The B&B consists of two houses converted into one. We were on the left side, which appears to be all private rooms. The right side had the breakfast area and I think is where the hostel room(s) is/are. We'd booked a private room and were...

Berkeley W, Manager at An Caislean, responded to this review

Thank you for your very kind and complimentary review and we're delighted you enjoyed your stay. Just a small point of information (so that those wishing to make a reservation are not confused!) The "right side" to which you refer (where the breakfast room is situated) is also guest house accommodation, with bathroom suites in fact more recently renovated than...

Stayed here in July 2015. Host Barclay was very helpful and even drove us into town so we could walk back and didn't have to drive ourselves. Short walk but it was raining heavily at the time. Good breakfast. Great location halfway between town and coast. Room was a little small but we were squeezing four adults into it. Great...

A last minute stop and glad we did. A warm welcome from Barkley and a spotlessly clean room. Free wifi was an added bonus and as for the breakfast - wonderful proper Ulster Fry - there was a wide selection of breakfasts - cooked, continental, cereals but it's hard to beat a fry. Heartily recommended and hope to stay again!

Claire and Berkeley are the perfect hosts. They are both people-oriented and engage fully with you as a human being from the moment you arrive. The hospitality they offer is exceptional, and they take some pride in running a truly lovely guesthouse. When I arrived at An Caislean last Sunday, 5th July, I was absolutely soaking wet. I had just...

Warm, friendly welcome from Berkeley the owner. The B&B is centrally situated on the Quay Road, handy for the beach and the town centre. Also only 5 minutes walk from the Ratlin ferry. Excellent breakfast, clean and fully equipped room and easy access. Berkely provided some useful advice about places to eat (Central Wine Bar was excellent) and helpfully changed...

We took over one of the houses for the weekend of my son's wedding - 7 of us. Berkeley and Claire are absolutely brilliant hosts and made a very special event even better. Breakfasts were hearty and delicious and if ever we have the opportunity to go back to Ballycastle, there's only one place we will be staying!

We were not only impressed with the facilities and breakfast, we also had the most helpful guide. We told Berkeley the direction the four of us were heading and he told us about his visit to Doagh Famine Village and his stay in the a golf and spa resort. We were pleased that we had followed his advice and enjoyed...
