The Europa Hotel stands out for its central Belfast location, which guests love for ease of access to local attractions and public transport. Its lively atmosphere is a highlight, particularly the Piano Bar, which garners praise for its ambiance. Many guests enjoy a peaceful stay with commendable cleanliness and diverse amenities, despite occasional disturbances and housekeeping inconsistencies. While the rooms and service receive mixed reviews, focusing on comfort and staff attentiveness, some travelers note issues with noise and value for money.

The pictures of the Europa Hotel do not do it justice. Not only is it beautiful and tastefully decorated, it is conveniently located to the bus and train stations, coffee shops, Tesco Express, Crown Bar, Robinson's Bar, etc. in Belfast City Center. We stayed on the 8th floor overlooking the city, and the elevators (3) were large and quick. Overall, we were very satisfied with our room and the beautiful view of the city and mountains. Unlike most hotels, you can open the window to allow fresh air inside. The housekeeper happily exchanged our down pillows and comforter for non-down products upon request. However, our room could have been a little cleaner upon arrival. Smudges on the window and dirt in the sink was noticeable. We also had a few issues with the bath tub which were quickly remedied by maintenance. The breakfast buffet is a bargain at 12 pounds per person, and the sausages are fantastic (as is the porridge with whisky). Breakfast also features Clandeboyne yogurt, fresh juice, Guinness bread and the best muffins you've ever had. We look forward to returning to Belfast so we can stay here again. And if you go to Belfast, be sure to check out the nightlife at the Cathedral Quarter.

We picked the Europa because of its excellent location and close to bus stop for us from Dublin we choose to travel by bus to have a nice break from driving.
The hotel is a fantastic hotel with friendly staff and it is spotlessly clean throughout.
We spent a few hours relaxing in bar upstairs and the service was very good.
The price for rooms and breakfast was surprisingly very reasonable considering the Europa is one of the top hotels in Belfast city.

I have been in the Europa hotel many times over the years but it’s our first time staying here. We stayed on a Sunday and on arrival just before 3 pm we booked in. i did think it would be busy but it only took a few minutes. we were given room 420 which had a nice view over the west of the city. The room was spotlessly clean and was of a very high standard. With every thing you needed for a short stay. the bath room has a shower which was great but the very small sink was for washing your hands only. We took ourselves around the town for a few hours and came back to the hotel to have a few drinks. we sit in the piano bar with a view over great Victoria street. it was very relaxing and the staff were very pleasant and quick to serve your drinks. We spent a few hours there also having great food. we later retired to our room for a well earned sleep.
the next morning we had booked breakfast for 9.30 but went down a little earlier. Again the staff were so pleasant . with in a minute we had our tea an coffee and went and got our self service breakfast. I do have to say the food was off amazing quality even down to the potato bread. . the plates were also heated. i never left a crumb on my plate. the best Hotel breakfast we have had in many years. .
one small thing we put our car in the value cabs car part near the hotel and paid £17 over night for 24 hours stay. when checking out the staff told us we should have used the car park behind the hotel and bus and train station. as it was cheaper. by £5 per night. the hotel web site does not state this and only says about a special rate at value cabs parking. All in All we had a ball in the Europa hotel the food the staff and the hotel was amazing. we are already looking to stay again before christmas.

Dear peterraff, Thank you for taking your time to leave us your wonderful feedback. I am pleased to know that although your stay was short, you had a fantastic one. I am also delighted to read about all the positive aspects during stay. 420 is indeed a lovely classic room with it being newly refurbished. Additionally, we take pride in our valuable staff members and the services they provide. Please accept our sincere apologies with the miscommunication about the car park. We do offer discount for both car parks. We look forward to seeing you soon. Warmest Regards, Xyza Guest Relations

Stayed in a disabled room in the Europa for 2 nights in the end of January.
The ensuite was perfect, carpet / wooden floor are at different levels in the bedroom, causing a slight step that the wheelchair got caught on but it was ok.
The room itself was freezing, the staff delivered an electric heater that was left switched on for the stay as there is a breeze coming through a hole in the wall beside the floorlamp socket.
The paid parking is a bit of a distance away for someone in a wheelchair and with luggage.
The hotel lobby the bar and restaurant is very nice, staff were friendly. It would have been nice if management had sent an apology for the poor standard room but I've still got no reply to the comments left on the comment card.
Breakfast was perfect.
Really enjoyed the trip to Belfast but can't recommend the Europa unless the wheelchair room is repaired and upgraded

Hotel looks very plush and on the night we stayed was in the top 5 most expensive places to stay in Belfast but the bedding was old and lumpy, the standard room is tiny with far too much furniture in there for the limited space, there were only 3 thin hard pillows in a room for 2, scaffolding covered half the window that had a tarpaulin on it that was very noisy in the wind. The shower had very little water pressure
Hotels are places to sleep and get ready for the next day and if you can't do that properly then all the lobby marble in the world isn't going to cut it.
A Travelodge off the M6 can get these things right for a third of the price

Just back from a one night stay with friends.

Check in fine friendly etc, however the amount of cardboard boxes lying in a heap behind reception doesn’t give a good appearance. Why boxes full or empty behind the reception?

Booked two of the standard rooms. Rooms small with full glass doors into the bathroom might not be to everyone’s taste.

What let the room down was the cleanliness. Windowsill covered in dust, a belt belonging to a previous occupant (who knows how far back) was lying in the only cupboard that you had for storage (under the safe). Room just didn’t feel or look that clean, so much for enhanced COVID cleaning.

Room small little storage you could maybe hang a dress or two and shirt and trousers and only the small cupboard that had the belt for storage. Scuffs on the paintwork, cables hanging down from the TV. No bottled water, no Robes and slippers. 4 star ?

Facilities. Only the piano bar on the 1st floor was open. The lounge on the ground floor was closed. Why because of COVID or was it lack of staff?. Made no sense if you want people to social distance then give them options to sit and relax not cram them into the one lounge.

What really is not 4* is breakfast. The breakfast manager actually said to us while showing us to our table great news or Buffet is back.

A Buffet breakfast is not 4* and never will be.

No not great news 4* is not standing in a canteen with your plate etc serving yourself breakfast. 4* is being treated and having breakfast both cooked and continental being serviced to you at your table. Any star is making sure that the table is set with the correct cutlery for everyone and also ensuring the table is wiped and not sticky.

And when you actually asked for a pot of coffee for 4 (instead of a cup full each) not being made to fell like you have asked for something difficult and unusual.

Maybe the help yourself buffet is to cut back or save on staff costs but it sure isn’t 4* luxury treat in any shape or form

Dear 1sttimeberlin, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. It is only through our guests feedback we can have insight into areas in need of improvement. So thank you for highlighting issues that did not match your expectations of our hotel. Our Full Irish Breakfast buffet is extremely popular with our guests. More often than not, it is what makes our guests return to us time and time again. I am disappointed to hear of your view and experience. I can assure you I have notified our management team of your comments to make sure we are taking appropriate steps going forward to ensure we continue meeting all our guests needs and exceeding expectations during this time. I hope you enjoyed other aspects of your stay with us and let me take this opportunity again to thank you for bringing these details to our attention. My daughter's booked us to stay here as a Christmas present, they are 14 and 18. They booked it through a search engine so when we tried to upgrade we where not allowed as not booked through Hastings direct. no empathy for this and no personalisation from the reservations team. When we got there, we waited at reception to check in and was told by the gentleman on receptions he would be with us in 2 mins, he then disappeared with other members of staff in the lift. The room was cold and the sink had a large crack and missing enamel. We decided to visit the Grand Central for a drink before dinner, completely different experience. Staff where amazing. Came back after dinner and drinks and had 1 drink in the hotel bar, when ready to go back to the room we asked for water as there was none in the room, the staff where rude and seemed displeased with the request. The next morning housekeeping knocked at 9 (checkout is 11), then opened our door while in bed. On checkout we weren't asked how our stay was, a rushed what's your room number and bye. Having complained via emailagain no empathy or personalisation was used. I sent the picture of the sink as requested as checking the room was too much effort. I was offered to stay at a reduced rate, not sure why I would pay to stay after this. So what was a lovely thoughtful present was a disappointment by the Europa. We have stayed at higher and lower stars and the Europa is sub standard in all areas. My only conclusion is because my young daughter's booked at a discount rate so we where put in a sub standard room.

Stayed for 2 nights:
first night and breakfast was a dream being served by a tall dark haired woman she was soo lovely and provided a beautiful breakfast service.
On the second night not once not twice but six times the fire alarm went off between (4am and 6am) each time, we woke, got dressed and were about to leave when the alarm ended and we were told don’t evacuate. After the 3rd time we slept fully clothed and Awaited another hoax alarm, my head was killing me after being woke in such a way (it scared the life out of us we were very anxious) staff did not say why the alarm kept going off making it worse.
Then breakfast at 10am, a blonde woman asked for my name and room number then said “I give up with the page by now it doesn’t matter”, took us to a table and gave us a menu, she handed us a menu and walked away (the day before the black haired woman offered us juice and tea/coffee) the blonde lady took 25 minutes to take our order and we were left with no drinks to wait with. Then when she did take our order she made my partner a cappuccino in a tea cup (I worked in the slieve Donard bar a few years back when I was a school student and knew back then the standard of service Hastings *should* provide). After 40 minutes Since we arrived in the restaurant we eventually got our food, which was wrong but we ate it anyway we were so hungry and then got our juice (I asked for apple but got orange), we were super tired we so ate/drank fast and left because check out was at 11 and we had 10 minutes to pack.
The table beside us had the tall dark haired girl as a server, me and my partner were jealous, maybe the rest of the staff could take a leaf out of her book.
On check out we did not hear one word of the fire alarms from last night, Not an apology not a drink voucher or anything just to apologise. I am so annoyed I wasted money on this hotel now, their customer care on Sunday was a disgusting joke. No empathy, no care. I do however want to thank the cleaning staff and that dark haired lady at breakfast, your services were perfect. Wish I had of got their names. The staff on the Sunday probably were getting an earful over the alarms which I empathise with, but they were not woke from their sleep multiple times like the guests, They did not have to quickly change, they didn’t have the fear if there was a fire or not, an apology costs nothing.
Also that blonde woman in the restaurant wasn’t just rude to us but to multiple customers “that’s what happens when your old” when a lady forgot her glasses, didn’t ask us what way we want our eggs, rolling her eyes at a customer asking for toast, letting the whole room hear breakfast is £18 as she shouted across to a customer, I was Just mind blown. Couldn’t wait to go home on Sunday.

Just booked an upgrade in europa for a four night stay with my husband. Was a very great let down. Decor was lovely and bed was a great size but that is about all the positives of this upgraded room. First of all there wasn't a drawer in the room in which to put any clothes and only four hangars for all our clothes. No milk for tea or coffee even after the room was serviced. Was tired having to ask reception for things that should have been already supplied. Only one small tub of shampoo and one of body wash, no conditioner and not even a bar of soap. After a shower on the first night there wasn't even a hair dryer and I had to go shopping to buy an unneeded hair dryer. Next day I Had to go to reception to get some more shampoo and a bar of soap. you would have thought I was asking for the crown jewels. the lady produced a bag and gave me one shampoo and one conditioner, she said they would get a bar of soap sent to the room. Should you have to go everyday and ask for a body wash or a shampoo, you certainly wouldn't be getting two. On checking in we were told that the room would be serviced on the third day so we waited but it didn't happen and when my husband rang the reception he was informed that the service would not be happening. After a long conversation they rang back and said the room would be serviced so we went on out for the day. On our return they had indeed had the bed made and some plates and glasses removed but didn't even leave a body wash or shampoo. I expected a lot more from a hotel as well known as the europa. My expectations were not met indeed I would go as far as to say a complete let down.
The staff in the restaurant were fantastic along with the bar staff.

Hi, the Great Northern Multi Storey - the staff on reception at the Europa will sign your ticket for a reduced rate. You then pay the man in the office at the car park, don't use the ticket machine. Kind regards.
