The hotel is in the middle of Cardiff by the castle. When you enter the grounds it is not clear that you can park on the left hand side while checking in. I drove into the main car park and then had to struggle up the slope to check-in. Very friendly receptionist who was very informative. My bedroom overlooked the...

I've been staying here for 6 nights on business. I have to stay my room on the 5th floor is tiny and in a shabby state of repair. The bed is very hard and the furniture very old and marked. Bathroom has a ridiculous shower arrangement which essentially floods the whole bathroom after about two minutes use. Shower curtain was...

I arrived with my son during the Easter holidays for an overnight stay. We were able to drop our-bags off as it was early an the room wasn't quite ready. Fiona on reception was lovely, she was welcoming and gave us information on the boat across to the bay, she kept her cool whilst a difficult customer tried to interrupt...

Room was quite small, and basic, but had everything you would expect, I had asked for a quiet room as I am a very light sleeper, and to their credit , the receptionist had put us on the top floor, but the traffic on the main road outside the hotel could still be heard late into the evening, but too...

Stayed here just for the one night, the room was relatively small but clean and had everything needed for our stay although more milk for my cups of tea would have been nice, breakfast was hot buffet and couldn't have asked for anything better, all in all a very pleasant stay, would definitely recommend

Firstly on arrival had a little confusion on checking in due to the night staff had pre checked me in to secure the family room that I needed. But this was sorted out with just a few extra clicks on the computer. Can't fault the room at all, bed was nice and comfortable, although my daughter is convinced that the...

We stayed as a family of four, with two children under 5. The room was not fully ready after we checked in, the beds for the children were not set up. The bathroom was very small and poorly set out. The floor flooded at one end when showering. The toilet was so close to the bath and only half the...

I stayed here for one night for a business trip to Cardiff. I used to live in the city, so knew the location is pretty central. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Queen Street's shops, and less than a 10 minute walk along the river to the railway station. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was...

Still a big fan of IHG hotels but the Cardiff holiday Inn is a little dated.. Great staff and check in was quick and efficient. The room looked a little cramped. We had 3 nights there. I saw pictures on Trip Advisor that the rooms had safes.. But unfortunately no safe. We had 3 draws 1 was tiny and the...

Dear stoke-ken Glad you had a good stay, points regarding the decor will be addressed later this year on our refurbishment which we are very excited about. There were no surprises, which is not a criticism. A clean, relaxed, and good standard hotel. The room was a bit on the small side but the bed was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The room looked out onto the park and castle. I was worried that I would be disturbed by traffic noise at night but there was no problem....
