The Premier Inn Caerphilly (Corbetts Lane) hotel garners praise for its friendly staff and spotless rooms, with an atmosphere that many guests find welcoming, highlighted by abundant tea and coffee, and cozy, pillow-rich accommodations. While the majority of travelers appreciate the hotel's value and the array of breakfast choices, including gluten-free options, a few have noted issues with early breakfast closures and a lack of modern room features such as air conditioning.
Despite these critiques, the overall sentiment towards the hotel's cleanliness and service is highly positive.

Always a comfy bed and a great breakfast. Lovely and warm with extra pillows. The reception lady Leanne was so helpful and the Bev in the breakfast room was also really friendly. Breakfast freshly cooked and loads of choice. Everything in the hotel was spotlessly clean

This was our first stay in a Premier Inn and overall we were very pleased with the experience. The location was very good as we were there to go to the Rugby at the Principality Stadium and we enjoy our evenings out in Caerphilly (normally The Malcolm Uphill).
All of the staff we came into contact with (especially the Chef who cooked me bubble & squeak after remembering I requested it the day before) we very friendly and professional, the only downside was the breakfast area as it was very small and you sometimes struggle and have to wait to get a table. The wait is definitely worth it though as the breakfasts were very good.

Restaurant staff went out of the way to help with a food intolerance problem. Daz saw to it that my eggs were cooked in such a way that I could eat them safely. He remember this the following day enabling me to feel happy and confident that I could enjoy my breakfast with out concern that I would feel unwell later in the day.
All the staff at the Corbetts Premier in are happy to greet you and make you feel welcome.

A relatively quiet (or at least it was for us on Thursday and Friday nights in July).
Very nice staff, very friendly and helpful.
Breakfasts are freshly prepared in a small dinning room in the Premier Inn itself. They are the usual Premier Inn fare, but very well done.
There is no attached Whitbread pub, so inclusive meal deals are not possible. The pub next door is a Toby Inn (with no affiliation). Great if you like a carvery, less good if that is not what you are looking for. All other options to eat in the evening are a car journey away given the location and lack of walkable paths.
The car park is ok, busy in the early evening.

We chose to stay at Caerphilly as it was cheaper than main Cardiff and parking is free. There’s a train station in the main town, but train strike was on, so we chose to drive into Cardiff after all. You can walk to the main shops, castle etc in Caerphilly easily from the hotel, it’s not as far as it seems on the map, about a 15 min walk, was more uphill on return, but really not too bad at all. The outside of the hotel looked like it could do with a bit of a tidy up - cracked render etc., but it was clean and tidy outside and in. Room was spotless, reception welcoming and we got a room upstairs. Once windows are shut, the noise from the road is barely audible but that’s the issue- you can’t shut the window because the rooms are so incredibly hot with no way of cooling down- the thermostat is just for heating, not cooling. So we slept in 27 degrees c the first night, on top of the covers with the window open. The road is incredibly noisy, constant over noisy bikes and cars, followed by sirens and blue lights. We always bring earplugs so it wasn’t too much of an issue at sleeping time. I read reviews on TA saying about fans being available, this wasn’t mentioned to us at all and may have helped with the heat. Rooms should come with them as standard in the summer if they can’t control the temperatures with air con.
There’s a Toby carvery next door, but we didn’t eat here on this occasion.

I stay in a lot of Premier Inns for work and find they are generally quite good quality but this one really surpassed expectations. Clean and comfortable as you'd expect, with an exceptionally comfortable bed, and really friendly service - when the receptionist found out it was my birthday the staff left a card and present in my room which was really touching and lovely. The buffet breakfast was brilliant too and again delivered with really friendly service. Good location 5 mins drive from Caephily Castle and only about 20 mins into Cardiff - I went into Cardiff for a drink with a friend and it was easy to get an Uber back.

We had a warm welcome with an explanation of rooms and services. The room was a good size, the accommodation was spotlessly clean, bright white bedding, a very comfortable large bed, fluffy white towels and plenty of plugs for gadgets. The breakfast was well organised, very tasty, with plenty of choice. The staff were pleasant and efficient.
Thank you Corbetts Lane for a great stay.

Checked into the hotel at 8.40pm after a long drive. Receptionist told me the Toby Carvery served until 9pm approx so I dropped my stuff in the room quickly and went straight to the restaurant. I asked the girl behind the bar if they were still serving (this was at 8.44pm). She said "sorry, we stopped serving at...(looked at the screen of the till to check the time)... 8.40pm". Im not sure what kind of a restaurant has a final serving time of 8.40pm... seems a bit random. I very much got the impression they didnt want to start a new table so close to 9pm, so just palmed me off. I ended up eating from a vending machine in the hall of the hotel, which was over-priced and faulty.
The room itself was fine. GOod size, clean, and the TV worked well. The Wifi was really weak and I had to sit in a specific position in the room to be able to use it. I think Premier Inn allow you to buy access to their premium Wifi pacakge, but I expect good Wifi as a standard these days. There is no excuse for a company the size of Premier Inn not to have this sorted for guests.
Only saw three staff the whole time I was there, including the chef at breakfast, but they were all friendly and efficient. Check in and check out were simple.

As my husband and I both struggle with getting a good night's sleep, I booked a twin room with 2 single beds for one night (paying extra in the process), NOT a twin with a large bed and a sofa bed: the sofa beds are hard, lumpy and uncomfortable.
On arrival at the hotel, we were told that there was a 'room amendment supplement' to pay which made no sense as we hadn't amended the room. Eventually it transpired that we had been 'moved to room 3' by a member of staff and charged for the privilege. That was cancelled after a lengthy phone call.
The room we were allocated was NOT what I had booked - it was a large double and sofa bed for the 'twin'. I spoke with the receptionist who did his best to help but there were no twins with 2 single beds available. He managed to produce a couple of duvets to put on the sofa bed to make it a little more comfortable, but it definitely wasn't a 'great night's sleep' as Premier Inn promises.
Once home, I contacted Guest Relations to request a refund, but I am told that, under the terms and conditions, I am not entitled to a refund because when I booked a twin with 2 single beds I only 'requested' the room, i.e. this isn't a definite booking, and the room I 'requested' wasn't available on the day of our arrival. I haven't even had a refund of the extra paid for the twin with two beds as opposed to the sofa bed room.
In the response from Premier Inn the comment was made that my query would be passed on to the hotel to 'ensure staff are made aware of the correct process when requests are made' - basically an admission that someone, somewhere, didn't follow procedure.
As there is a limited number of twins with 2 beds, surely the booking system should prevent further bookings of such rooms once they are all 'requested'.
Despite guest relations 'looking forward to seeing you again', I shall make every effort to not use Premier Inn again in the future, as I clearly can't guarantee that I'll get what I booked and paid for.

I’m so sorry I can’t answer that as we used a car. Wonderful hotel though.
Toby carvery right next to it you can go in and just have a drink you don’t have to buy a meal
Good morning. We are located approximately 2 miles from Caerphilly train station, it is possible to walk (takes about 35-40 mins) or alternatively, we can arrange a taxi for you from the hotel.
There is a closer station at Energlyn which is only 0.8 miles away, however not all trains stop at this station.
I hope this helps you!
Kind Regards
Chris Evans (Operations Manager)
