We spent four nights at The Lodge whilst exploring Brecon and highly recommend the B&B. Steve and Bronwyn were very welcoming and provided excellent hospitality and were very helpful with guidance about the area. Our room was well appointed with a large bathroom, a small fridge with fresh milk provided for tea and coffee (and hot chocolate!). It overlooked their beautiful garden which has terrace seating and a covered seating area further away from the house with wonderful views. The breakfast was very tasty and filling and for a small extra cost Bronwyn provided a packed lunch for us to take on our hikes. The Lodge has a drying room to dry wet clothing and boots (very helpful), and ample parking on the property, A lovely variety of birds visited their garden which was very entertaining. The Lodge is well located for local pubs, and close enough to the main roads to enable easy access but still very rural and peaceful. We highly recommend this B&B and if we revisit the area we would definitely stay again!

We recently returned from a wonderful third visit to The Lodge. This peaceful location a few miles from Brecon gives panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and hills including Pen Y Fan. Our rooms have always been clean, fresh and comfortable and the recently installed mini-fridges are a useful addition.
The breakfast area is light and spacious with safely spaced tables adjoining an attractive orangery sitting room.
Bronwyn and Steve are superb hosts who clearly love their jobs and cannot do enough for their guests, finding time to chat with goof friendly humour.
We certainly intend to return to this excellent accommodation.

This was the best B and B I have stayed in over the last few years. The hosts did everything they possibly could to be coronavirus safe, even leaving rooms empty at least 2 days between visitors. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, warm and had good views. The hosts were knowledgeable about gluten free food and the breakfasts were delicious and locally sourced. The hosts were welcoming, nothing was too hard for them to attend to, and they were happy to chat. If we come back to the area we will stay here again.

Upon arrival, Bronwyn and Steve warmly greeted us and were really welcoming; even going out of their way to provide gluten free snacks in the room and bread for breakfast. Over breakfast (the mushrooms were delicious, by the way), Bronwyn provided us with useful information daily around parking for the trails we wanted to hike so that we were sure where to go, saving us a bunch of time trying to navigate the region ourselves.

The location of the B&B was beautifully secluded, and the room had picturesque views overlooking fields with a backdrop of the mountains. The garden was also beautifully kept. Everything was clean and tidy, with ample space in the room to spread out. The bed mattress was comfortably firm, and there were enough well-placed plugs for all electrical items. Entirely a matter of preference, but installing Venetian blinds would be a great way to allow for more controlled light into the room, whilst still offering privacy. A car is advised for this region, and the onsite parking was entirely sufficient for the cars of all guests, without needing to be tightly parked.

I would highly recommend staying here and would return without hesitation for another visit to the Brecon Beacons!

We could not have chosen a better base from which to explore this beautiful area. From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome by our friendly hosts who could not have done more to ensure our comfort. Our room was airy & spacious with everything provided to a very high standard. The whole property is immaculately kept and the view across fields of sheep up towards the Brecon Beacons is so peaceful and calming. The delicious breakfasts, cooked to perfection by Bronwen and served with panache by Steve, set us up perfectly for the day ahead. In our wide travel experience, one way to gauge the quality of b&b accommodation is a tasty range of fresh fruit at breakfast along with the very best of ingredients to follow as well as fresh milk for tea & coffee in the room. Recently, we have lost our hearts to Wales and wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Lodge should further visits become possible.

This was a great choice of B&B for a couple of nights over the Christmas 2022 break. The room was clean, comfortable and the delicious cooked breakfast prepared us well for burning the calories off running in the hills. Steve and Bronwyn are very friendly and attentive - a lovely couple.

Although we didn't use the guest lounge it is a lovely area to relax, even more so if you were with friends/family in other rooms and wanted to gather together. On a fine day (tee hee!) there are gorgeous views from here and in the garden across to the "Fans".

The drying room was a bonus too after washing down our muddy/wet running shoes and gear - all was dry for the following day in the Brecons.

There are a couple of good pubs nearby: The Royal Oak at Pencelli (<2miles walk), which serves very good food & ales, The Three Horseshoes at Groesffordd (1 mile). We also ate at the The Gurkha Corner in Brecon (fab Nepalese).

An Airbnb booking error (!) left us without rooms for two nights. This was not funny as we were in Brecon for a wedding. Fortunately we had seen a sign 'The Lodge B&B' on our way to the Airbnb booking error... So we drove there in the fervent hope that they might have a room available for two nights. Long story short: Steve and Bronwyn Fox are the nicest people whom you can hope to meet. Their B&B is beautiful and beautifully positioned. Our room (4) was really nice with an ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. The room was spacious, cupboards had plenty of wooden coat hangers. It was blissfully quiet at night and no nightlight pollution so stargazing definitely is an option. We had a Full English on both days, preceeded by freshly cut fruits and yoghurt. My coffee came from a cafetière, my wife had a nice pot of tea. Because of their large gravel drive this is the ideal B&B for classic car rallies such as Three Castles Welsh Trophy or North Wales Classic Car & Motorcycle Show event. My car was the wedding car and parking could not have been safer. In all it was pretty much the same price as the Airbnb but so much better value for money! I cannot recommend this 'small' rural B&B in the Brecon Beacons highly enough.

We've just returned from a wonderfully relaxing stay at the Lodge, having visited many times over the years. Bronwyn and Steve are genuine, marvellous hosts and put so much effort into making guests feel welcomed and comfortable. This is no ordinary B&B - everything has been thought of - from the drying room for wet coats and boots (complete with boot dryers!) to a pergola with heaters to enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains whatever the weather. This year - we really enjoyed the new guest lounge with super comfy 'Stressless' chairs with the most amazing views once again of the lofty Beacons. We've stayed in most of the rooms over the years and all have really comfortable beds, wool duvets (so warm in winter and cool in summer) and lovely views. So peaceful to listen to the distant bleat of sheep and the birdsong and practically no other noise. Easy 20 minute walk to a fabulous food pub (The 3 Horseshoes) and a relaxing longer stroll along the canal to Brecon . Great cycling & walking from the doorstep. We recommend the Lodge to all our friends.

We stayed for 2 nights with Steve and Bronwen who are both excellent hosts. The house and room are spotlessly clean and it is in an ideal location . We were unfamiliar with the area but Bronwen gave us really helpful tips on where to walk, eat ,drink etc and the breakfast was excellent. Hope to see you again soon and thanks for a great stay
