The Wellington is an example of the sort of town centre Hotel that most market towns have. It's obviously seen better days, but within the restraints of what you can do with a building of it's age the owners have done a reasonable job. It's not a luxury hotel, but if you need a comfortable reasonably priced nights accommodation, as...

I stayed here for one night while visiting on business locally. The welcome was fairly cool but efficient, the room was ok although décor rather jaded, and the food typical of the modern "gastro pub" with a poor choice for vegetarians and nothing for vegans. Like a previous reviewer, I would stay there again but would not want to stay...

Over Good Friday my partner and I decided to take trip a up to Brecon and visit The Regimental Museum of The Royal Welsh (Well worth a visit) and carryout research into my Rorke's Drift Ancestor. Lunchtime, we struggled to find somewhere nice to eat. We eventually came across The Wellington Hotel which was busy but reasonably clean and tidy...

We took a nice drive to Brecon and came across the Wellington. A big plus for us was that it welcomes dogs! Always like places that do that! Menu range was really good everything from typical pub faves to fajitas! I had the Sunday roast I opted for chicken which was 1/2 a roast chicken which was lovely and it...

Got a good deal for one night on booking.com for 2 adults and 1 child. Room had 1 double and 2 singles and was clean overall, lots of tea/coffee available, 4 bottles of water and lots of biscuits - nice touch! Beds were hard so not sure I'd have stayed longer than maybe 2 nights and also floors very creaky...

We have visited Brecon as a family on a few occasions in the last year. Every time we've been to this hotel for food the staff are very pleasant , the place itself is lovely but we have been disappointed with the food . The first 2 visits we couldn't have our choice on the menu . Out of stock...

Overall the hotel was not great value for money. We asked and paid for a double room but were given a twin. The room was pretty grubby. There was no hairdryer or complimentary shampoo and the towels and mugs were not cleaned after the first night. The milk was off. The staff were friendly and the food good, which just...

Having spent the afternoon in Brecon we popped in for a pint before heading home. The beer was lovely served by friendly staff. We found a very comfy sofa next to the inglenook just a pity it didn't have a fire and the fruit machine next to it rather spoilt the ambience. The final no no was someones pair of...

The booking of this hotel bt telephone was straight forward from the very beginning with a very friendly and helpful member of staff. On arrival in Brecon, although I found parking to be an issue, the Wellington Hotel staff pointed me in the right direction to the nearest car park and provided me with a Wellington Hotel parking information notice...

Stayed here with friends whilst completing a mountain challenge. The food and beer are great along with the excellent and attentive service from all of the staff. Particularly Tom and Caitlin. A real credit to the Team. Room was large, clean and adequate and would definitely return. Jon.

You'll find plenty to do and explore locally. Why not take a leisurely walk along the canal, or maybe a trip on the Dragonfly Barge taking in the stunning scenery. If you fancy an energetic day out, pursuits such as canoeing, mountain-climbing, biking or kayaking can be arranged with Black Mountains Activities, or alternatively you could give Cradoc Golf Club a visit - an excellent club for those golfers amongst you.
