The hotel looks very traditional in appearance yet modern new touches make it up to date. The most amazing thing about The Royal Oak is the staff, right from Sam ,Anna and Holly on the front desk to. Phil and the brilliant Charlotte in the restaurant, we chatted with you all and you really do the service industry proud, you're...

Been coming here for years. It's always been lovely, but had some refurbishment of late too. My room (210) was superb, food as usual top class, prices great. But the most impressive feature this time was the staff. Every one was polite, respectful and attentive. Friendly yet informal and absolutely wonderful.

We popped in last week for coffee and cakes. The lounge is very comfy. Service was prompt. The coffee was good and the cake was nice. Nothing hugely special, but a good place to come if you need a break.

Cosy warm hotel, stayed for one night, couldn't fault it. Check in was smooth and earlier than expected which was a nice surprise on arrival. Food was lovely in the Grill restaurant. Room was Spotless traditional in decor, the bed was super comfy. Breakfast not the best I've had but well presented a little bit greasy for me. Over all...

Visited for morning coffee and scones. The scones were very tasty and the coffee good. The service was also good. Worth a visit when in Betws y Coed. The cafe attached to the hotel was closed for renovation which filled the lounge with a strong smell of glue or varnish. Unpleasant but didn't detract too much from the experience.

Title says it all really. We were only dining, not staying in the hotel, but the staff were nice, the prices were reasonable and I haven't eaten better steak and scallops than this anywhere. Would definitely eat here again.

We had a Deluxe Kingsize room as we wanted to feel that we had a little space around us, however after paying £175 per night B&B I was disappointed with the Decor and the bathroom. The wallpaper was pealing in a lot of place and the looked very tired. The Bathroom was nicely decorated but the shower trickled rather than...

They had the builders in. Toilets in a hotel room up a precipitous staircase. Food was patchy. Welsh Raerbit excellent. Ham and egg sandwich inedible as the ham was Parma ham type so the sandwich had to be cut rather than bitten. Disappointing.

I ordered the Rarebit and it was very very tasty. I would return for just that alone. My partner had the cream tea and although it was good, the presentation was very poor. However, it wasn't expensive so it was satisfactory for the price. The staff were very friendly and the waiting time for food was fine. The lounge of...
