Beautiful old building, the room really felt like you'd gone back 200 years to the time when style really meant everything. The room was really warm, but if overly warm the window could be opened and the radiator turned off. Staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic. Would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic break in a beautiful part of the world.
The location of this hotel is fantastic for the shops and walks around Betws-y-Coed. The train station is also nearby. Our room was cosy and beds comfy. The food in the restaurant was great - piping hot, fresh breakfasts and a really good choice for dinner. We had the short rib and the ribeye and both were beautifully cooked and portions were generous. What is outstanding about this hotel is the consistent service. It feels "family run" in that all staff are very customer focussed, friendly and are knowledgeable about the venue and their offerings. Will definitely be back.
lovely place for lunch. very very busy, good atmosphere and family friendly also dog friendly with a menu dedicated to dogs which i thought was cute! i had the lasagne which was really nice as was the salad the food tasted fresh and well cooked. we wanted to know / ask how the chips were made as they were bloody brilliant! never had chips like that before... ha! also the peppered steak sandwich drinks were nice too friendly staff clean and well ran
OMG. Just had the most amazing Sunday roast at the royal oak pub. When we arrived every one was so friendly. Although we didn't book they found a table for 2 for myself and my husband. As we looked at the menu we felt it was a bit pricy for a Sunday Roast but never the less, reluctantly I ordered the roast beef, which I am not usually a fan of as it can be a bit dry. Check out my photo... presentation was amazing. The beef was sooo succulent and well flavoured and the vegs also tasted great too the best Sunday roast I have had in the area, so in hindsight, with every part of the meal hand made from scratch even the yorkshire pudding. It was worth every penny we paid!!!! My husband had lasagne in his words " beautifully cooked and presented. We had to personally tell the chef how great the food was and with a packed restaurant and pub the. Meal and presentation was consistent. It was too much for 1 sitting and didn't want to throw it away so got myself a goodie bag to save for later. Yum yum. We are now fit to burst and therefore loosen our belt and chillaxing by the the log fire. We have now book burns night and will also be booking their Valentine night, as we love the food so much. To avoid disappointment book in advance. The royal oak owner runs a tight ship that is very customer focus, staff looks happy to work there and very caring. I may just think of a career change just to work there. 🎂🥂 …
We were so impressed with The Royal Oak, we will definitely be returning at a later date. Very clean, our room was amazing (if a little too warm, but there's a thermostat valve on the cast iron radiator) The included breakfast was superb and kept us going till tea time, and the restaurant food was top-notch. Best of all though, were the amazingly friendly staff, who were more than happy to spend time chatting and recommending local things to see and do. Stay here, you will not be disappointed.
Cannot fault this beautiful hotel. Stunning location, helpful friendly welcoming staff, The room was, cosy very clean, probably had one of the best night sleeps, the bed was so comfortable. Food was delicious, will definitely be returning.
Exceptional hotel with brilliant staff Could not fault a thing The room was gorgeous with nice views Parking to the rear We unfortunately didn’t eat in the restaurant on this visit but will hopefully do on our next visit Breakfast was spot on and very fresh Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning 💙
Nice hotel on the main street with good service and food. Breakfast was tasty, fine coffee, NYE dinner was also very delicious (perhaps even too much food). Staff are really lovely and accommodating. Parking is available, for free for hotel guests, either at the front or at the back of the hotel. Rooms are large, with comfy bed and pillows (perhaps the bed frame was a bit noisy); the decoration is a bit romantic or traditional. They allowed us to move to a room in the back, away from the traffic. WiFi works well, although if there are a lot of other guests, it stops working. The main drawbacks are the bathroom and the TV. On the one hand, I think the bath needs to be changed in to a shower (there is plenty of space for a large, pleasant one), the head shower needs replacing for sure... it's not even workable. On the other hand, only a couple of channels on TV worked, as most of them would get constant interference (maybe because they are freeview... not sure). But also, if you try using the USB slot, it doesn't work. For days when the sun goes at 4.30pm and it is really rainy outside, the TV is your best friend, so making sure it works is key.…
Booked 2 nights just before Christmas and were met by the most extremely friendly and polite staff. The room was perfect and the view amazing. Breakfast was well presented as well as evening meals. The staff couldn't do enough for you and always smiling and friendly. Rooms can be a little warm but having the option to turn down the radiators is great. Overall, very happy with the stay and definitely reccomend to anyone for a nice peaceful break in the countryside.
The location was perfect halfway to Northwest Wales, which was our final destination. Parking was free and easy, with a pass provided by the hotel front desk. Getting to the hotel was simple and well-explained. The room was clean, modern, spacious, and well-appointed. The hotel was located in a beautiful area with a grocery store within short walking distance, which was helpful.
