Stayed here many times over the years, stayed this time for only one night as we where staying in portmadog the night after. The Royal Goat is a very old hotel, went to stay there when I was a small child with my grandparents many years ago. The food was fantastic in the evening and breakfast in the morning. New... More

We stayed at the Royal Goat along with others from our MG Register car group, on a Bed, Breakfast and Evening meal basis for two nights. We were a bit apprehensive as the hotel had changed owners since our original bookings. But upon arrival, we needed not to worry! The welcome on the reception was extremely warm and friendly, the... A lovely, friendly hotel situated in a stunning part of Wales.Good sized comfortable rooms with a nice roomy bathroom.OK, the floorboards are really noisy, but it is a old building. We booked with the B&B and evening meal deal, and the food each meal was very, very good with exceptional value for money.Very friendly and approachable staff, i found the whole... Have stayed at the Royal Goat Hotel three times before, so had an idea of what to expect. I think it's changed hands since I was last there and the current hotel team certainly seems to be more efficient and professional than on those earlier occasions. We had a lovely room with wonderful views. If the sun had been shining... More

We were just here for our evening meal and it was fine. We have eaten here before a couple of years before. From the point of view of the building the lobby and restaurant and seating area are nice. The bar is good and the drinks well kept. Perhaps because it was the end of the season or perhaps it... More

We visited as an adult family of four for Sunday lunch. The entrance is misleading and feels as though you're in the hotel by mistake, but inside it is fine, if a little tired. We understand the new owners have big plans to improve the access and approachability of the entrance. The food was really good. High quality vegetables with... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Royal Goat for £50 pp dinner, bed and breakfast. The food was excellent and the full Welsh breakfast keeps you going all day. For dinner we had a £15 pp allowance against the a la carte menu or could choose three courses from the table d'hote menu. The burger, steak and lamb off the... More

Just back from a long weekend with several friends, with the exception of one waitress staff were way below standard IMO. Wait for a drink at the bar was horrendous. Friday sorry no Guinness we only sell that in the summer. Saturday saw the hotel run out of Perroni and Bud. Hence the use of a better hotel in the... More

We stayed here whilst on a driving weekend with another 2 couples. The accommodation was booked prior to the change in ownership the new owners looked after us perfectly. Our rooms were on the same floor, we were on a Bed Breakfast & Evening Meal package and we weren't disappointed. The Evening Meal on both nights were lovely, well presented... More

The service provided by the pleasant staff was excellent. The menu and quality of the breakfasts and evening meals was also superb. The bedrooms were adequate but very tired. Maybe the new owners will invest in new flooring and decor.
