Detailed Reviews
Friendly family run hotel in a converted farmhouse a short walk from the village of Beddgelert. Our room accommodated a couple plus up to 2 children and included a free continental breakfast with a great choice of cooked options if you’re more hungry. It’s an ideal place as a base for hiking the surrounding hills which are spectacular.

From start to finish this place was amazing. I spoke with the hotel owner Regan in February prior to booking explaining it was my wife’s 60th birthday and I wanted it to be special, and neither he or his wife Emma didn’t disappoint, brilliant hosts, providing fabulous hospitality. The breakfasts were all very good (we stayed for 4 nights) the breakfast room has all been redesigned and refurnished, as had the room we stayed in which had a picturesque view over the mountain which the hotel overlooks at the front. The hotel now called the Ty Afon - River House is situated within a pleasant 5 min walk from the centre of the village. Nothing was too much trouble and his staff we also equally friendly and accommodating. A really enjoyable stay and we shall definitely return next year, thank you for making my wife’s birthday so special🙏

Hotel now called Ty Afon.
Welcoming hosts and staff. Lots of choice for breakfast.
The room was extremely comfy. Not a huge space but enough for the weekend. Nice bathroom products and fully stocked tea/coffe/hot chocolate etc.
The owner was very knowledgeable about the area and different walking routes. Gave us some great advice for which paths to take up Snowdon and nearby.
A few minutes walk into the small village with a few pubs, shops and cafes. Check opening/serving times if planning on a particular place as some do close early.

A beautiful place, the setting is simply spectacular. Beddgelert is a lovely little Welsh village not far from Yr Wyddfa, and this hotel did not disappoint in any way. The bathroom was spotless with lovely amenities, nothing out of place. The included breakfast was ample but cooked to order items are also available. Quick walk or drive to the village, where at least three pubs offer good food options. Excellent hotel with an excellent, friendly staff.

We visited Ty Afron to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was the best decision! The location is perfect with amazing views of the mountains. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and went the extra mile to ensure we had a nice stay. The hotel and room was very clean, tidy and the interior was lovely. A tranquil and relaxing place to stay in Beddgelert and we will be back again soon!
