Stayed there for one night after doing our scramble, one off our members forgot his phone in the room only realizing while we were on our way back home. after contacting the team at the YHA centre it was located and posted it back, big thank you and five stars to all the staff involved.

Perfect getaway, climb Snowdon and have a shower soon as you get down! Food nice with big portions. No wi-fi or phone reception, just what is needed sometimes! Climbed Snowdon 3 times, each time different, was epic!

Amazing rate for the location, freaking beautiful! Stayed with 4 friends in the 5 person ensuite. Room was warm and spotless but I have to drop an entire star but those flaps they were using as pillows. Even with two of them stacked it was like sleeping on pancakes! Think I've been spoiled at a close-by luxury hostel in the...

Hi there! Great to hear you enjoyed your stay at the hostel and Snowdonia. I am sorry to you feel the pillows are sub par. This is something that has been brought up recently and an issue we will be looking at over the next few weeks. That being said it sounds like the rest of your stay went very...

Brilliant hostel, Great facilities, bar, restaurant, drying room, kitchen, games room; staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The location couldn't be better for climbing snowdon as it is across the road from the PYG track and the Ogwen valley is ten mins away. If your a light sleep then brings some ear plugs as you can hear everything that is...

Hi Daniel, Thank you for such a great review. Glad to hear you enjoyed the mountain and our facilities. As far as the wifi is concerned, there simply hasn't been any infrastructure installed up here to connect to so this has been out of our hands. A Satellite internet connection simply isn't good enough to support a wifi network. This...

This was the first hostel I ever stayed in, and now I'm spoiled for life! The rooms were in great condition, meals were good, and my group enjoyed using the available game rooms to socialize during the evenings. But my favorite part was that Snowdon was literally just across the street! Being able to walk to the trailhead and not...

We booked here last minute for a quick stopover on a trip through Wales. We had a private room with bunk beds, small unit for storage, a basin and mirror. The room was very warm and clean, the shared bathroom facilities were also clean and close to our room. The hostel has a bar, restaurant and games room which is...

Like so many YHA buildings this one has a notable history with associations to many literary and scientific minds of their day, all documented on the wall of the main dining area. We had booked a 5 bed (bunk) room with private facilities. The room was perfectly adequate, slightly compact for five strapping lads, warm and clean. We received a...

Pretty much epitomises the YHA (to my mind, and in my experiences). Helpful, informative, attentive staff, who know this part of the world and want to share it with you. I recommend the breakfast, and a jar of local(ish) ale before bed. What a gem, and what a place.

Hi and thanks for your review. Many guests pass the same remark with regards to Pen Y Pass as being the perfect place to stay for the Snowdon Hike. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located with-in The Snowdonia National Park at 1000ft. above sea-level, and set amongst stunning, jaw-dropping scenery, and with two of Yr Wyddfa – Snowdon Mountain’s - major footpaths – The Pyg Track and The Miner’s Path starting on our doorstep, YHA Pen-y-Pass is the ideal base from which to climb Snowdon. The famous knife-edge ridge of Crib Goch – The Red Ridge - and the start of the Snowdon Horseshoe dominates the view from our dining room windows.
