It is expensive to stay at the Lodge but I wanted to sleep within the Avebury Stone Circle and I didn't have transport. My room was large with a quaint four poster bed that was very comfy. The room had lots of interesting framed prints and memorabilia that gave it character. The bathroom was adequate with a small shower. I used...

To be fair it was on my wife's list and it was her birthday. Great place to stay with a terrific room. Overlooking the stones was a great experience. A beautiful house with a great hostess, delightful hostess who made a great breakfast.

With delightfully informative and amusing hosts, The Lodge is situated at the western launch point for walking The Ridgeway. In addition to its unique location, its bedroom offers direct, spectacular views of some of the neolithic stones encircling Avebury. Excellent hot and cold breakfast options.

As usual we were running behind schedule to arrive here. We left Glastonbury and were intending to go to Stonehenge but who knew? Bumper to bumper traffic! Seems like such an ironic juxtaposition of ancient history and now. The countryside is just gorgeous so that was a plus, but our GPS wasn't worth poopoo so we were having a time...

My third time staying at this amazing b and b over the last decade. Entertaining, knowledgeable hosts, absolutely yummy breakfasts, lots of quirky and interesting antiques and pictures and, the stones all around. Highly recommended.

Ever since I first went to Avebury back in 1998, I’ve wanted to come back and stay, and finally, with this trip, I got the chance, along with the family. The Lodge is a beautiful residence. A little pricey, but worth it if you want to stay inside the stone circle. Right next door to the pub, too, which is...

What a treat it was to stay at the Lodge! Something we'd wanted to do for a while, and it certainly lived up to expectations. We stayed in the Pelmet Room..like the other parts of the house we saw, it's furnished with antiques and interesting prints. The window looks out directly onto part of the Henge, with an intriguing glimpse...

What a pleasure to stay inside the circle, inside this fascinating house! My room was cosy, comfy, and I had a great night sleep on the (firm) mattress. Lovely veggie breakfast, with fried potatoes, and good toast and homemade jam, all with a fantastic view of the stones. Host was welcoming and interesting. I hope to be back. Thank you!

Where else in the world can you sleep WITHIN a stone circle, let alone the world's largest stone circle? For this, I would sleep in a dump. But fortunately, you don't have to! Instead, you can sleep in a wonderfully eclectic B&B run by a delightful chap with a wicked sense of humor who cuts a mean mushroom. The ancient...

My husband and I experienced a fantastic stay at the Lodge several years ago when we traveled to England, so of course we stayed with Andrew and Susan again this July when we vacationed in the UK. The Lodge is perfect......it felt like home on our first visit and we felt so welcomed and comfortable during this stay as well....
