3 of us went for a business lunch in the Bistro which was thoroughly enjoyable. My Chowder starter could have been a bit thicker with a little more seasoning but my main was slow cooked mutton which was delicious as were my Chantenay carrots. Far too much food to need a desert. The service was very slow, no excuse as...

Visited Hotel du Vin for afternoon tea with 6 friends. Afternoon tea was superb! Lovely food and drink. Was lovely to not have the usual sandwiches but to have crossaints and bagels for the savories. The customer service was brilliant. Deffinetly will be returning.

My wife and I stayed here for one evening in the Pommery room. Excellent check in process with friendly staff. The room was clean and tidy. Good to see nice coffee in the room. The bed was very comfortable, not always something you get when you don't sleep in your own bed. Our only gripe would be that the blinds...

Visited Hotel Du Vin for Champagne Afternoon Tea celebrating birthday and wedding anniversary. It was all arranged through the Duty Manager named Arron who did everything he could to make it a first class experience. The food and drink was delicious and in particular the Creme Egg Chocolate Brownie was absolutely divine. The real treat though was the customer service...

We were booked onto a champagne tasting event to celebrate an upcoming wedding. The hotel manager, Tony, was there and he was nothing short of lovely. The food was great and the bar staff in the bubble lounge slick. The evening was topped off by a fabulous room and bathroom with a great night's sleep. For breakfast it can only...

Any hotel should be able to provide decent accommodation, decent food and decent service but it's amazing how many supposedly first class establishments don't manage the basics. HdV not only did this but, due to a burst water main elsewhere in Birmingham did it without water (for at least part of our stay). They arranged a meal at their sister...

Have been visiting here for several years and it went through a real dip a couple of years back - slow service, unimaginative menus, slightly empty restaurant. Happily things seem to be improving and our visit in Feb was much improved. Good value menu, lovely wine list and service prompt.

I booked an overnight stay as an early. Birthday treat for hubby, opting for a more expensive room given it was his birthday. We stayed in the Bollinger room which was exquisite; huge sleigh bed, massive en suite and Ren toiletries (along with gowns, slippers, water and a Nespresso machine). We stayed in the city because we were going to...

Beautiful setting! Staff were friendly and attentive, though the menu is set for the afternoon tea, I let them know before arrival that I was a veggie and they swapped out the meat sandwiches, pork pie and jelly for alternatives which was really good! Both my mother and I were really impressed and left very satisfied and very full! Thank...
