On a Saturday night the bar area is crowded and noisy. The music plays loudly so it is difficult to talk without shouting. The restaurant manager assured me it was quieter in the restaurant area. It wasn't. The waitress explained the specials but the music was too loud for me or my wife to hear what she said. There were...

Our room was very big with nice plush carpet. Comfy bed. Loved the lighting, very cosy. Big bathroom. Two complimentary bottles of water, one still, one sparkling, a helpful addition. We enjoyed our evening meal. Good layout and decor in the restaurant. Great cooked breakfast included. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Don't think anyone in our party of 4 enjoyed their food! Thought it was expensive for what it was too.. Been in the past when it was better but it looks like complacency has set in! Busy Saturday night and service ridiculously slow too..Won't be returning in a hurry but still a good pub for a drink..(maybe that's the problem!)

Had lunch here last Saturday. Main course was fine although a little on the small side. Can't say same about sticky toffee pudding, which was very dry and bland. Lovely setting and nice atmosphere but food very average.

This is a good pub serving food and has rooms both in the pub and an annexe around the corner in the market square. We were in the annexe and it was quiet and you had a key to the main door as well as the room. The room was clean and tastefully decorated.

Just loved the Rose and Crown. Recommended to us by some friends who live locally. Stayed overnight and had dinner. Emma and her staff couldn't do enough for us. Dinner and breakfast delicious , room very comfortable. Highly recommend - good value for money. We'll be back .

Bought a meat roll with chips and gravy for £9.25 each. We asked what the meat was and were told it was ham and mustard. When it came it was almost literally a cob with two slices of bacon on it with 15 chips and a little pot of gravy. We had a pint of coke each and it cost...

Loved the room, set above the market square, well decorated and with clever touches of style. Sound proofed and just the right temperature. The quirky touches extended to breakfast - the small dish of smarties was most unexpected yet really welcome!

We have eaten at the Rose and Crown several times and always enjoy the food and the atmosphere. On a previous visit we felt that we had been stuck in the corner of the main restaurant, but on this occasion we had a table for 7 in the bar area. Overall this was much better and the service was better...
