Stayed here for our wedding night, and don't think we could have chosen better. All the staff are lovely, the breakfasts are amazing and the room is one of the nicest we've stayed in. Would recommend to any couples looking for a good quality hotel in this lovely town.

This place is just the best, it has a great selection of beers, they make a great cocktail and they have a very large selection of Gins and even larger selection of Whiskey's too !! They offer great bar snacks and the food here is some of the best you can find in town (you will not be disappointed) they...

Don't bother going if you have a baby as they don't have a high chair! Tried to go for lunch for four people and a 1 year old baby. Told to leave baby in buggy or they could put a cushion on chair! As a local and regular visitor to most restaurants in area found this quite amazing. Don't think...

Four of us really enjoyed our short stay at this very central hotel within easy walking distance of all the Shakespeare stuff. Food was pretty good and friendly and helpful service was notable. The extra-large beds were comfort indeed in lovely rooms. Good show all round, will visit again.

First time we have stayed at the Town House, and found it an excellent facility. The staff were very welcoming and anxious to please. The restaurant was relaxed and the food was of a good quality. The full English Breakfast also very tasty.

We stayed in this hotel because we were seeing a play at the Royal Shakespeare. It is five minutes walk from the town, river and theatre so it was perfectly situated. The room was exceptionally good, spacious and designed in a 'boutique' style. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Car parking is extra and lack of space means you...

We recently stayed for two nights, Friday and Saturday to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We chose this hotel because of its excellent reviews and the photographs of the rooms. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who offered a choice of two rooms available for the price paid. Both rooms backed onto the rear car park, and I chose...

We arrived in Stratford with no hotel booked, so stopped by Tourist Info and were told that there was a room available at this hotel. What luck! We got a beautiful corner room for half the cost! Stayed two days in this lovely city, and the service at the hotel was impeccable. Natalie and her cohorts downstairs were always friendly...

We sought a place to stay near the theater and Church Street really delivered. They happily stored our luggage while we went to sight see before our rooms were ready. When we checked in, we found that each room is unique and manages to meld antiquity with luxury resulting in truly charming accommodations. Since parts of the building date to...

We had a fabulous weekend stay at the church street townhouse. Staff were really helpful, rooms spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Great choice for breakfast and a perfect location for Stratford town centre! Highly recommended!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This independently owned boutique hotel is housed in a 400 year old listed building in the heart of Stratford upon Avon. Located opposite Shakespeare's school, among the ancient half-timbered buildings the town is famous for and only 2 minute's walk to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. This is THE place for a pre-theatre supper - local pianists play at 5.30pm daily and the atmosphere is great. The 12 funky en-suite bedrooms vary in size, cost and view. Try for a room at the front of the building for the perfect view. Great food is served all day, through till 10pm in this buzzy neighbourhood bistro with Afternoon Tea a particular favourite. Champagne Happy Hour is every Friday at 5pm and the bar is packed with a great, upmarket local crowd. The staff make the place and nothing is too much trouble. ... more   less
