Booked this place on booking.com. Arrived to a superior double room . There was no heating in the room. I wasn't informed it was broken until I complained. Chap at desk was eager to return my money rather than try to resolve problem. It was a pre booking so I had to find emergency alternative accommodation

Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, they couldn't do enough for you, food was excellent and the rooms were very comfortable, would definitely recommend this hotel! Hotel also has ample parking spaces to the rear.

Very friendly staff, always happy to help. Small issue with the lighting in my hotel room but was resolved straight away. Food in the hotel restaurant was fantastic, two out of the four nights we ate there instead of other restaurants were by far the best meals we had! Highly recommended

Single room on a business trip. Useful desk in room. Room was compact but answered all my needs. Very quiet even though it overlooked the car park. Bulb missing from bedside lamp - was fixed within 5 minutes! Exceptional service. Breakfast was plentiful with a lot of choice. I am a vegan and was brought a suitable cooked meal within...

We had a family tea party for our daughter's 21st here and had a great afternoon. The food was good and reasonably priced and the staff looked after us. Best of all our daughter really enjoyed the fact that the hotel were able to cater for our groups vegan, vegetarian and meat lovers tastes providing several three tier sandwich and...

Stayed at the Peacock on an overnight business trip. After driving 100 miles plus and being delayed by heavy traffic I arrived later than planned only to find the rather "compact" car park full. I then had to reverse out and drive up a nearby side street to find somewhere to park for the night. When I reached my room...

Stayed here for a week for work to find a basic at best room with a broken bed and staff that really didn't seem to care and then to go for a drink in the bar to be asked to remortgage my house to pay for it. Not good value at all

Lovely, clean and friendly hotel. Easy walk into town, just a couple of minutes. Parking available (free) and the Raffles restaurant was just superb. Nice bar area and just a great stay - will definitely return - especially for a meal!
