Went for Sunday lunch and whilst the 2 course at £14.95 is ok value the roast beef dinner I had was very poor and let the price down. I was asked how I wanted my beef which made me think i'm in for some proper beef off the bone, being carved off a joint with a bit of pink and...

Went on the off chance and really enjoyed a delicious meal. The food was well cooked and plentiful.Waiting staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. It seemed very popular which usually speaks for itself. We will definitely return and try an evening meal.

Visited here for a second time, and not disappointed. All gentlemen on duty were polite and very efficient, great customer service which is so hard to find these days and makes a refreshing change. Mammoth portion of crispy potato skins and a black pudding starter followed by a moist chicken Kiev and full to the brim steak and ale pie....

Havent stayed at the hotel, so this is simply a review of the restaurant. Good Sunday lunch menu, with some good fish and veggie options. Beer selection was ok, but not great, wine list average. Food is good, without being spectacular, Sunday roasts are large and tasty. Fish dished looked great. Enjoyed the scotch egg starter and the smoked duck...

Visited on a special occasional.. Arrived on time for our reservation and were taken straight to our table. The restaurant was busy but not excessively so. Altogether we sat at our table for over half at an hour and were not even offered a drink whilst we were waiting. The restaurant staff seemed disorganised and more than once we saw...

We had a 'full' restaurant upstairs on valentines night and a busy lounge area downstairs. When you arrived we gave you the option of the only 2 tables available. Once you sat down, ( not looking too impressed by either of the tables, no idea why?) we gave you menus. Then we gave you bread rolls. We offered to take...

We were the first to get there on Sunday, it's a beautiful restaurant. We ordered 4 Sunday lunches, the first two were a little cold but they took them away quickly and heated them up. They were pleasant and helpful I would definitely go back! Everyone has a poor day, maybe chef was a bit hungover! Food lovely eventually and...

Beautiful Inn, comfortable and with excellent decor and furnishings. Super toilets! Good menu with lots of choice with a local twist. Consistently good meals of an excellent standard. Good parking. A drive out into the lovely Northumbrian countryside and a good stop on the way to Corbridge, Hexham and on to the Roman Wall.

Called in Saturday for a light lunch and catch up with friends. Beautiful relaxed surrounding with very polite and helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The home made finger sarnies and hand cut chips were very delicious, the puddings to die for and the prosecco flowed freely.,

Not a place you would think about going as you have to drive due to the location, however the food and service were excellent. Portions sizes were very good and not that expensive at £13.95 for two courses. The wine was reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this beautiful restaurant. They also have rooms available and the décor throughout is...
