First of all the staff are excellent really helpful couldn't do enough for you. We went for a family meal at Malmaison last night. Drinks you couldn't get a pint in the bar they only did half's (£3) or schooners (£4) . Presseco was £8 a glass. The meal, you don't get free bread so £4 for a side order....

Have stayed at this hotel 3/4 times now. Never been let down by the rooms. The suites are amazing and staff are friendly. The food is generally good but did have one occasion when we had the steak and had to send it back. This was however refunded.

Stayed at the Hotel in February at weeked. Very nice room overlooking the river and quayside with a view of the Tyne bridges. Room very well equipped, lighting on the dark side (but possibly romantic for some!) The Brasserie restaurant is excellent with good service too. Staff on reception most helpful.

The Mal toiletries smelled amazing and breakfast was very good with a wide selection of cereal/pastries etc. I also had...

Went for an evening meal and ate off the a la carte menu. The food was delicious and beautifully displayed and the service was very good.. our waiter Don was very pleasant and recommended a delicious white wine which would never would have tried otherwise. The restaurant itself was spotless, the décor attractive and the views of the Tyne amazing.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong.
