Absolutely disgusting hotel. ●Room was filthy! ●beds were not comfy, could feel the base of the bed through the mattress it was that thin and worn. ●shower didn't work (room 38) Was lucky to have friends in another room to be able to have a shower because we were told we couldn't be moved to another room ●friend had room...

The location of this hotel is brilliant. However, there was really bad damp on the ceiling in the bathroom and the extractor fan made a ridiculously loud noise. The kettle and appliances were dusty and grimy, clearly not cleaned in a while. The curtains were covered in damp and the ceiling in the bedroom was splattered in God knows what....

I was on business for one night and this seemed to be fine. And to some extent it was. Good location, slightly faded and scuffed around the edges, but clean, modern and decent wifi. I'd asked for a quiet room which turned out to be room 341, a small attic room under the sloping eaves facing the back (which was...

Me (18) and my friend (19) stayed here for one night so we could travel over to meet some friends but after realign reviews on here we regretted booking the hotel. When first arriving into the street the hotel signs are not obvious at all and when we finally found signs we had to walk up three sets of stair...

Our group felt that the staff could have been more friendly and welcoming upon arrival, it would have been nice to have been greeted with at least a smile. When we checked out we had the same problem. Our rooms needed a good clean, curtains and skirting boards were filthy! We also had to pay a group deposit which was...

This hotel is only just three star ,being old and grubby. However that is reflected in the price, and it is very centrally located, just above a Brew Dog bar. This hotel is going to attract hen parties so if you want peace and quiet this is probably not the place for you.

Booked this hotel has part of a groupon deal last year, we usually stay in premier inns but thought this was a bargain and had to have it. Very close to station so no problems there, no sign of hotel on the front of the building but on the side of the alley a sign for the hotel, entered thru...

Booked into the hotel and had booked a premier inn within 20 minutes instead. Floor in the room hasn't even been laid properly, with a hole in the wall and there was a dodgy brown mark in the bath. There was rubbish all over the staircase and when we got to our room, our room was already unlocked and the...

We stayed at The Surtees for a single night and had absolutely none of the problems that others had mentioned on here. The staff were pleasant enough the room was clean and relatively modern, everything in the room worked as it should and the location is unbeatable. Breakfast was plentiful and decent and all in all a very enjoyable stay....
