Stayed on a Saturday night for an event in the city. When we arrived they were unable to find our booking, despite it being booked a week earlier via Trivago. Eventually we got a twin room at the back of the hotel. The room decor was very tired. The carpet looked circa 1970's and there were still some faux-teak furnishings.... More

Can't comment on hotel as didn't make it through the door due to booking error made by hotel. Booked via late rooms for great north run to get call as I was arriving in Newcastle to say I didn't have a room. Late rooms say it is hotels fault who will except no responsibility for error as they offered me... More

Excellent location. The triple room was adequate although it did need upgrading. We didn't use the restaurant, the staff were helpful and friendly ,however I do think the room was very expensive for what it was but I expect it is what the market will take on this weekend

As a solo traveller simply can't fault. Attentive but non imposing. I was really impressed with staff - caring, attentive and efficient. Menu reads better than reality, but that's down to personal taste. Overall very impressed.

I have to admit i didnt think tbe Caledonian was going to be as good as it was. I couldnt book my regular 4 star quayside hotels due to everything being full with newcastle united playing at home. I had to look a little out of town and the only one i coukd get was the caladonian. But yes .... More

We stayed in the Caledonian for one night to celebrate our engagement anniversary. Even if you don't know Newcastle well as we do it is easy to find in the heart of Jesmond, on Osborne Road. Parking is a little hit and miss, as their own car park is not extensive and we were lucky with most students being out... More

Stayed here for the weekend while visiting family and friends. It is close to the city and ideal for our purposes. For good or bad it is quiet in the evening but ideal for a good nights sleep. We would stay here again. The menu looked good but we didnt have a chance to try it. The staff were friendly... More

Just returned from a coach holiday with J&MB Travel of Corby which selected this hotel for our base. They couldn't have made a better choice. The hotel is clean and comfortable with proper bath sheets and good quality loo paper!. The meals were of a very high standard and well presented and the staff are superb - they have the... More

Myself and my partner stopped here for 4 nights on a coach holiday. Cannot find anything unpleasant to say about it. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the food was very good and the room had everything we needed and was very clean. The area it is situated in was very upmarket, even had a local Waitrose. The reception... More

Although I've never stayed at the hotel I do go quite frequently to have their early evening offer. 3 courses each with a bottle of wine to share for £30 (£15each basically) It's got to be the best value meal you can get and not a usual 'special' as the ingredients are very good The menu changes each week and...
