Took a cab here from Heddon on the wall during a Hadrian's wall walk. Places to stay around this portion of the trip are hard to come by, but it's only 7.20 each way with a cab to here from the 3 Tuns pub. Rooms are a nice size and very clean. The breakfast is continental only, which isn't an...

Enjoy the garden for a short stroll and sit for a rest. The Hotel was good restored, has comfortable and clean rooms with good beds. Also the shared bathroom was much cleaner than most other hotels. Lovely breakfast with lots of things to choose on the buffet.

Very enjoyable stay, room was spotlessly clean with immaculate linen. Decor is far more interesting than a corporate hotel. Breakfast provided us with plenty of choice and the staff were very friendly. Would recommend and will visit again.

A lovely hotel .Because it is set in its own grounds ,and set back off the road, you get a great sense of being miles in the country, although in fact your only 15 minutes from newcastle. The host was very nice and everything was spotless.Would definately stay again and thoroughly recommend.

Spent two nights here with our teenage daughters, using two en suite rooms. We had the four poster room. It's very spacious and my wife made use of the dressing room. The entire building is well furnished and clean. The owner made us very welcome and was friendly and approachable. I was a bit dubious about breakfast as I'm a...

The two night stay at Hedgefield House was peaceful and comfortable. Although we missed breakfast on the Saturday (as we had to be on the road by 7:30am and breakfast starts at 8:00am ) Having a later start on Sunday meant we could sample the Continental style breakfast. It was terrific.. loads of choice and fresh hot croissant with very...

Our room - and the public areas - were delightfully furnished and it was a joy to stay at such an interesting and historic building. If you like the bland uniformity and lack of care available at most chain hotels, this would not be for you. Our host was very considerate and helpful. Do not be put off by the...

My great grandfathers owned coal mines in Newcastle, and I was unaware of the history of Hedgefield House before we stayed. Loved the quietness of the location, even though we got thoroughly lost trying to find it, as the suburb is Blaydon. It represented the sort of property my ancestors could have owned. (They owned the Archbishops house) so much...

Just off the main road but a real gem. A quiet off road manor house with enclosed gardens, plenty of parking. An incredibly exceptional hotel full of history packed with oriental treasures. Exceptionally clean, original high traditional ceilings, large windows, huge rooms all tastefully decorated and luxurious oversized furniture. Bathrooms exceptionally high quality baths and fittings, luxury flooring, huge beds...
