Very comfortable cosy set in picturesque grounds with wild life and extremely peaceful. The food was excellent and the staff were helpful, and first class. The Oak room where we slept looked a little tired and is in need of redecoration but had a certain charm!

We held a family Sunday lunch for 34 at this wonderful location. The food was outstanding (particularly the roast beef). All served hot with ample vegetables & extra gravy (something that is usually lacking). After coffee we moved out onto the patio for post lunch drinks. It was a wonderful, un rushed day that we all throughly enjoyed. Staff were...

Great venue for a family gathering, good accommodation in the individual mews rooms and excellent breakfast and dinner menus. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Would love to revisit when the weather is kinder to enjoy a coffee or dinner in the grounds.

Booked through Secret Escapes to celebrate a birthday - the imposing drive winds round and leads to an impressive country house hotel, with extensive lawns, beautiful trees, an attractive Wisteria arbor and swimming pool. Inside, the carefully understated decor is just right for a house of it's age and style. Our room (Rookery) was well appointed, with large bed, period...

Excellent setting which I imagine is lovely in fine weather. Room was large and bathroom excellent. Bed somewhat creaky but it was old and in character. Had dinner which was excellent value and really good. Breakfast also excellent. Very peaceful stay. Excellent wifi!

Great little period hotel with super food and very comfortable rooms. Varied menu. Cheese board was fantastic and the chef was particularly helpful phoning round local producers so that we could purchase some on way home. Highly recommended.

The first thing to say is that the hotel is situated in a stunning rural setting within easy driving distance of the charming town of Bury St Edmunds. The building is said to date from the 1530s and the hotel provides the visitor with various accounts of its origins, some credible and some rather more speculative! The current owner, who...

Very accomodating despite our delayed arrival at nearly 1am. The room was beautifully appointed, just a shame we had to leave so early. The breakfast team were very attentive and the cooked breakfast lived up to expectations! A flying visit this time, but we'll be sure to stay longer next time!

My wife and I travelled from Gloucester to Suffolk. We stayed at Ravenwood Hall. The service was friendly and very good. We were made to feel welcome . The food was really excellent, the Chef is one of the best. The room was comfortable. The grounds are lovely. Our stay was only one night. But we hope to visit again....
