Centrally located guesthouse 2 mins awaybfrom Oxford Street. Area very safe and quiet. Good breakfast, comfy beds but no lift. Very steep stairs especially the last flight. Hosts very welcoming and helpful. Free wifi and receptionist let me use pc to print and even made a few calls for me at mo extra charge!

Went on a Thursday evening in between Christmas and new year. I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The manager behind the bar was very welcoming and chatted to me about the various gins on sale. The place was warm and welcoming and had a great atmosphere. We actually live about 6...

We just to go to the Parkwood Hotel every year for Christmas Lunch, then it went down hill due to old owners and we missed the place, as always had a good meal and a good Christmas Day. I am so pleased to say that this year, it has been taken over by new managers/owners and it is spot on....

Decided to go for a meal at the Masham pub in Hartburn village. The Masham is a lovely welcoming proper pub. Unfortunately it was so full we couldn't even get through the front door. Feeling hungry we reluctantly decided to go to the Parkwood as a last resort. Surprise surprise it was empty apart from 4 other people. The dining...

This establishment was quite happy to take our money (a party of 15) for hours on end in food and drink but then as soon as the Christmas songs started threatened to turf us out! Last year Christmas cocktails were on offer, hence us choosing this place for our get-together - apparently the barmaid who rustled them up has left...

Had a very comfortable night. B and B for 1 was 79 quid. Good parking, nice spacious clean room with all my needs met. Good beer (really good actually). Good pub grub. Substantial breakfast. Staff who cared and who had and showed their own personalities... which is something I like. Traditional small hotel in a leafy suburb. Good choice if...

Where to start? The prawn cocktail had an odd smoky taste to it and the salad was just shredded lettuce. The mains were uninspiring and bland - dry meat, mash that didn't really taste of anything and vegetables that had been cooked to the point that they were virtually liquid, oh and the pepper. Lots of pepper. Chocolate brownie was...

Great if you like loads and loads of peppercorns overpowering the veggies and boil in the bag beef. I was really disappointed because I have eaten Sunday Lunch here before and it was lovely. Definitely seems to be hit and miss.

Pleasantly surprised on arrival to find such a nice outside area and garden. Inside also warm and inviting, good real ale selection and great taste. A warm welcome from a young girl, who tried to be helpful but lacked in her product knowledge. We decided to eat but the menu lacked in imagination and flavour, which came apparent when the...

I can honestly say that in my opinion you would be pushed to find a nicer couple running a pub, always a welcome. The pub has had its ups and downs but it is getting better and better. I can't comment on the food as i live so close we don't eat at the pub. What I will say is...
