Sad, weary, cold, initial reception reasonable until requests for example of needing some evidence of paying parking, buffet meal was about quantity not quality, dining room was cold. Salad was brown edged and dated, it was left for guests to guess the item in the hot trays as there was no labelling and not once we're we asked if we... More

Stayed only one night in the hotel for a university reunion. Having lived in Stoke for three years we knew the location was good, and also secured a very good price by booking in advance with the non refundable rate. On check in the reception staff ignored us, she was on the phone as I stood by the desk wanting... More

I together with three other friends enjoyed a three night stay, upon our arrival we found the reception foyer to be very inviting with a real Christmas feel, beautiful tree and decorations ( a little bit of faded elegance) but charming, the reception staff were helpful and efficient and we were shown to two twin rooms 107, and 108 which... Hosted a charity event . Fabulous service. Lesley, Sam and the team around them were very helpful and caring. Put themselves out for us to cover all eventualities. Food was piping hot for 230 guests. Rooms were clean & comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Here's to booking the next one. GOOD WORK GUYS..

The north staffs hotel hosted our charity ball on 19th November 2016. I am chair of our charity, Staffordshire Sands, and am going write an honest review of how they delivered on the night. Firstly, the hotel is looking tired and old and to be honest does need a refurbishment, but to be fair it is clean and for our... More

Stayed here as part of National Holiday Emmerdale Studies Experience. Had a lovely room and the evening meal and breakfast we're very good. Plenty of choice and not too crowded. Only criticism was the lift, felt it was going to break down at any time. Used the stairs whenever possible.

Pretty much everything was what I expected for a £40 room, and nothing was really awful BUT on arrival we encountered a member of staff called Ange I think it was? Rude, very short with us, wasn't welcoming at all. I work in the service industry so understand if she was having a bad day, but when we left the... More

This hotel has had its day, it is run down and shabby - on arrival we were given a smoking room on the 3rd floor we opened the door and it smelt like an ash tray - we went back to reception to ask for another room but told the company we booked from did not let them know we... More

This was once a grand railway hotel but sadly no longer. I have known this hotel all my life and in 1981 when it was operated by THF (remember them??) it was an impressive 4 star hotel that my parents and lived in for several months whilst our house was being renovated. Very exciting for a 10 year old school... More
