We came expecting an average little B&B in Wells, but were stunned to find a beautiful, luxurious, and impeccably designed house, with two very comfortable rooms, one overlooking the huge garden below and with its very own balcony. Lovely welcoming hosts who let you use the homely living room and dining room in the evening. I took careful note of...

We chose Wells for a weekend away and the stay at number12 made it a weekend to remember. The house is immaculate and the hosts charming and attentive. Our bedroom was very smart and well fitted out. Breakfast was to die for. The bacon and scrambled eggs were some of the best I have ever tasted. You get a lovely...

It’s not often you come across a B&B as nice as this one. Our bedroom was lovely, large and light and the spacious bathroom, with free standing bath, came with thick fluffy towels and locally made toiletries. The shower was fantastic, exceptionally roomy with lashings of hot water. We had the room with the balcony and woke up to a...

This B & B was friendly, comfortable and within really easy walking distance of all the tourist attractions of Wells. We were welcomed and made to feel at ease in the house. Good breakfasts and a lovely room. We liked having fresh milk put into the room each night for our early morning tea. Wonderful view over towards the Cathederal....

Number twelve is definitely in the top echelon of B&Bs. We had the main room with a balcony and view over the garden and cathedral. The bed was very comfortable with soft pillows and the open plan bathroom chic and contemporary, the free standing bath a particular treat. We were welcomed with tea and a delicious home made cake in...

We arrived at Numver Twelve in dreadful weather but were met with a very warm welcome, pot of tea and cream scones. We were extremely impressed with our room (the one with the balcony) and it was great to experience a touch of luxury on our 3 week trip to the UK. The views from the window were stunning. The...

The owners were good enough to pick us up in Warninster, we arrived by train from a transatlantic cruise and had too much luggage. We were greeted with tea and cakes and a beautiful view of their garden and the Cathedral from the second floor guest room. Room was immaculate, bright and sunny. Bath was modern and huge. Chris and...

We were running late and phoned our hosts to find out if it was still ok to stay. They were very helpful and gave us instructions on how to find the house and gain access to our room. We crept up the stairs to our room and found a very clean and spacious suite. We opened the curtains onto the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Arrive to tea on the balcony and sunlight glinting on Wells Cathedral. Cathy's family house is spacious, secluded, fantastically located, with a private guest wing. Settle on huge sofas around the sitting room fire; snuggle in new king beds; awaken to Cathedral bells, a south-facing view over the lovely walled garden and kedgeree or corned beef hash. Wells – a five-minute walk – bustles with markets, music, art and life. ... more   less
