An excellent location in the centre of Wells and overlooking the cathedral. The staff were friendly and efficient with a quick service at breakfast and the evening meals despite the Hotel being full at the weekend with wedding guests and another large group. The only disappointment was room 45 on the top floor and with no lift plenty of stairs...

Stayed 2 nights on a half board basis, and certainly saw no other restaurants to beat theirs. Staff in all sectors extremely helpful and friendly. Many rooms refurbished. Several in outbuildings. Would recommend not to sleep overlooking the High Street because of noise of deliveries and rubbish collection at unsocial hours. Plus late night revellers. Definitely the best place to...

We enjoyed 3 nights at this hotel and loved the location. With a wonderful view of the cathedral from the bar, and just minutes walk from the Cathedral, Bishops Palace, museum and shops - perfect. Our room was quite small, but fine. The bathroom was even smaller, but still ok for 3 nights. The restaurant is amazing with great service...

We ate in the restaurant at The Swan last night it was fabulous. Excellent value and beautifully presented food. Nothing was too much trouble - the staff were very attentive. The lamb was tender and succulent and the whiting starter delicious. The surroundings are restful and attractive. Well worth the £19 for two courses.

Stayed for just the one night whilst attending my daughters wedding. Good comfy bed, nice room. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Had a total of 4 rooms booked for various members of the family and we all enjoyed our stay.

Its been a while since my last review, so nice to be back online.!! Just returned from 2 night break at the Swan hotel Wells. This would be our 6th visit to Wells and the Swan in seven years. We've stopped in standard and delux rooms before, but we're lucky enough to stay in the famous Cathederal room. This room...

When we arrived at the Swan the reception greeted us with warmth and friendliness. We were a group of 20 and were shown to our rooms spread throughout the complex. The Swan is situated facing the Wells Cathedral with outdoor dining and ambience galore. The Dinner at the Swan was of 5 star quality. Excellent food, presentation was outstanding and the...

My husband and I stayed in 7 hotels over the course of a two week trip throughout the UK, and this was the best hotel we stayed in. It was comfortable and beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful without being too overbearing. It was very quiet. The surrounding town was like a storybook. The only awkward part was there...

A quaint hotel with very friendly staff and some rooms overlooking the magnificent Wells cathedral. Stayed in the Cathedrall suite, to be recommended, both the bedroom and lounge have views of the Cathedral and cathederal green. Just to sit and watch the changing lights on the cathedral and see the people going backwards and forwards was a treat. Entry to...
