We had a double room booked; very clean room with nice decorations; very romantic style with nice, warm colours. The bed was comfortable and besides the usual tea facilities there even was some nice Cadbury hot chocolate. Breakfast was fantastic; full English breakfast and some fresh fruit; in addition to that a lovely host who helped us with all our...

Warm friendly welcome, beautiful Edwardian house furniture and decor to match. We stayed in Rose room with a balcony (ideal for relaxing in the sun after a long day sightseeing) looked out onto the well attended garden. Breakfast cooked to order, enjoy fresh fruit salad and cereal while you wait and chat to the other guests round the table. Leave...

I love the small cathedral city of Wells in Somerset. We finally got to make a return visit to it for the first time in many years. It was a joy to see and visit the exquisite cathedral again and a pleasure to stay at Highfield Bed and Breakfast, operated by Stephanie and Steve Trebble. We received a warm welcome...

Stephanie and Steve made us very welcome and provided us with two wonderfully designed rooms overlooking their well designed and colourful garden. The balcony gave us a most pleasant setting to have tea/coffee with our friends who were in the next room. The view overlooking the green manicured lawn and garden made this choice of B&B a real surprise and...

The biggest plus for me was having a room with use of a balcony - you could see the Mendips in the distance . The room , bathroom , amenities , breakfast etc were adequate and its only about 8 - 10 minutes walk to the town centre so this is a good base for exploring .

Our hosts were very friendly and provided a reasonable breakfast, but the rooms need updating and some attention to detail. Ours was room 2, which has a lovely balcony with views to St. Cuthbert's Church. However, the single bed was not that comfortable and the room is cramped, with double and single beds and two chairs squeezed in. The small...

Hello Tim, Thank you for your review and comments. We are of course disappointed that you and your mother did not fully enjoy your stay at Highfield and did not give us the opportunity to rectify your criticisms and make your stay more comfortable. You claim that the rooms need updating you have only seen The Daffodil room and dining...

Close enough to city center to walk to points of interest, far enough from city center to be quiet, comfortable room, hearty breakfast, reasonable price, beautiful private garden in rear, and the owners were very friendly and helpful, even when our bus was delayed three hours and we didn't get there til midnight.

Highfield is a lovely B&B! Our room and ensuite was bright and clean, and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. We were lucky enough to have a room with a little outdoor terrace that overlooked the pretty garden (and beyond). There was lots on offer at breakfast time, and being non meat eaters was not an issue...

It was supposed to be a camping weekend away but we had to B&B it in the end as there were storms on the way and I don't think our tent would have survived - thankfully Stephanie was able to put us up at the last minute! We were warmly rescued and greeted at the door and shown to a...

Lovely clean and tidy bedroom and ensuite bathroom. We had a terrace overlooking a pleasing garden where we were able to enjoy the afternoon sun with a pot of tea. There are lots of lovely Victorian features in the breakfast room which also looks onto the garden.
