I stayed for a night in this hostel in a double room. The bedding was all brand new and the room was very clean and smelled fresh. I was very comfortable sleeping there and the staff is nice. I was woken up various times in the night, however, from Friday night partiers coming back from their night out. This is...

I stayed for one night in a single room while attending a conference. Room tired with some mould around the window but the bed was OK and the linen spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. Sink in room, loos nearby. Very good value for Bath. However in the early hours someone came in very drunk (this must have been obvious...

Clean, reasonably priced, quiet, staff is pretty friendly and helpful, not the typical dirty hippie hostel I've stayed before. A bit far from the train station if you're carrying heavy bags, I'd recommend taking a taxi and paying 3-4 pounds.

The location is great it is walking distance to all attractions. The accomodation itself is average. Some levels in the dormitories only have unisex toilets and all the toilets were blocked by 10pm! The showers also only gave you a choice between scalding or freezing if any other water source was being used - so unless you want to burn...

The room is okay, nothing special (although they have a USB port which is the best thing international travelers can get). The staff were extremely friendly, which made everything better and breakfast was what you can expect with included meals in a hostel. They do have a gym that you can pay a daily fee (with discount for guests I believe)...

A bed is a bed. Although it wasn't the most amazing of stats, we were provided with the essentials. £55 for the night, after arriving at 4am made it seem a little steep. Especially having to be out at 10, but we pushed through and had our kip. If you stay here, make sure you get your money's worth out...

This hostel is conveniently located within a 10-minute stroll of Bath Spa Station. The reception staff are very friendly, and you can take a map from there to help you locate the sites around you. There is 24-hour reception so that if you have any issues etc there is always someone to speak to. The reception take care of your...

We were there in early January, which seemed to be a quiet time. Only 1 other person in our 15 bed female dorm. Such a good location, easy to walk everywhere from here. A little bit loud out on the street outside well into the night, but otherwise no complaints. Breakfast and hot drinks were included, towel was available and...

I absolutely loved everything about the YMCA, I've been staying in various hotels for the past two months or so and this is by far the best one. My favourite thing was the curtains around the bunk beds which gave me a sense of privacy and the table in the room was also very useful. Only complaint is that the...

This is the perfect place to stay if you're visiting Bath, the price is good for a student like me. The room is nice with a table and a closet, with a tv it would be perfect. Breakfast is nice and staff are very friendly people. The location is good and easy to get around. My room had a nice...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our new and improved rooms will deliver a high standard comfortable hostel room for 2010. The YMCA is centrally located, just a stones throw away from all the major tourist attractions, tempting shops, sensational restaurants, Bath Rugby, pubs, clubs and award winning parks. If you want to be in the middle of it, then the YMCA is the location for you. The old Victorian building is at least 130 years old and overlooks the bustling Broad Street. It houses our dormitory accommodation for groups, backpackers and holiday makers. It also boasts a rather unusual mural on the grand main staircase. All guests have access to single sex bathroom facilities throughout the range of accommodation and all areas have secure access, ensuring your safety at all times. Staff on the 24 hour reception are nearly all locals who know Bath inside out. So we can help you plan your stay, organise and book tours or recommend a place to eat or visit. We will let you know what's on, where's in and what to avoid and what's unmissable in Bath. Guests at the YMCA also benefit from access to our fantastic health and fitness centre, with a great gym, a wicked range of classes for those of you who want to sweat, tone or relax, sauna, sunbeds and the friendliest gym staff you are ever likely to meet. So, if you are travelling but want to maintain your fitness program or just chill out in the sauna - we're the place for you. If you are travelling in a big group we can also offer conference facilities/meeting rooms further catering etc - just ask and we will do our best to deliver! We can accommodate over 200 people a night, so whether you are travelling alone or in a big group, old, young or with children - we have the bed for you. Alongside the warm welcome, we also offer: Continental breakfast in the price, linen included in the price, 24 hour staffed reception, Internet access, Laundry facilties, Towel Hire, No lockout/curfew, Credit/debit cards accepted, Security lockers/left luggage, Conference facilities, Fantastic health and fitness suite, City centre location, Children/families very welcome, Bike parking, No smoking, Tel/fax facilities.
