I have stayed in Bath on many occasions yet first time at this hotel. The service was first class from booking on line to booking out. Lovely quiet room over looking the garden and parts of Bath. Very easy to walk into town, takes 10 mins. The bar was still open when we returned from the Theatre along with a...

Two nights of very restful sleep followed by great breakfasts that set us up for sightseeing in Bath. The hotel is located in easy walking distance of the train station (about 10 minutes) and the centre of town (10 minutes in a different direction). It is close to the canal and river walks, near a park and museum and set...

I took my wife to bath for 2 night's for her 40th birthday. I could have just booked into the premier inn, but decided to pay the extra for something nicer. We arrived at the ayrlington to a friendly welcome and then shown to our room "the victorian" which was about right as it has'nt been decorated since then!! Along...

Firstly, this hotel is truly efficiently run by its manager, David. From initial contact via email, to him wisking our luggage from our hands and happily taking them to our room - a testament to what you can expect from the Ayrlington. One huge plus for this hotel is that is has parking for its residents ~ while it can...

My girlfriend and I have just returned from a 2 night stay here, and it was a beautiful place to have stayed with a great feel about the place however the customer service let it down. On the first evening we had a late night drink in the bar and the girl serving/receptionist didn't have much of a clue when...

Decided to spoil ourselves for a weekend in Bath and chose the Ayrlington because of the reviews. We were not disappointed. There are great views over the bowling greens, cricket pitch to the Abbey and Bath beyond. It's a 10 min walk to the city centre and there is ample parking - a real plus for Bath and it's traffic!...

Stayed in "the range" room over the weekend of 20/21 January. Cold outside but the room was lovely and toasty warm and bathroom had a walk in shower and separate bath. Staff were really helpful and friendly, and breakfast was fabulous.

The hotel was nice and the staff lovely, I felt that the room didn't match the cost charged. Although it was clean and big, it was also quite tired looking. The bed was huge and comfortable and the breakfast exceptional. Bath was great though, had fun at the Thermae Spa...was it worth queuing an hour and a half to go...

On our cross-country trip we spontaneously decided to stay in Bath and booked in to The Ayrlington last minute. The staff were very friendly and actually organised an upgrade to their best rooms once we arrived. These rooms were absolutely stunning - the beds were ridiculously comfy and big, the bathrooms were spotless and cosy - the heated floors were...

Just got back from a night away, we had a Groupon deal and was given The Garden Room, the room nicely decorated and and underfloor heating in the bathroom and had a nice big shower. We had a view of the garden which would be lovely to sit out in the Summer. Breakfast was top notch and the staff we're...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built of golden Bath stone, The Ayrlington is a large and handsome English Heritage listed building set in a splendid walled oriental garden with exceptional views of the City and its medieval Abbey. Bath's magnificent historic sites, speciality shops and excellent restaurants are all just a five minutes level stroll away. The Ayrlington's elegant and tranquil interior is a graceful blend of English and Asian antiques, artwork, fine fabrics and Egyptian cotton bedlinen - all 18 bedrooms have an individual theme and are beautifully furnished, some with four poster beds. The emphasis is on creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility in the centre of Bath's vibrant city centre. The Ayrlington has a licensed residents' bar, secure on-site private parking and is entirely non smoking. We do not accept children under 5 years of age. The Ayrlington's ongoing commitment to quality has brought some well deserved and hard earned awards - five stars from The AA and Visit Britain, AA Premier Collection, a listing in The Good Hotel Guide and multiple Bath in Bloom garden awards. ... more   less
