Worked and stayed in Shrewsbury for 2 weeks and found this pub. Very welcoming and friendly pub. Great locals to chat to. Land lady was awesome, loved the historic wall and the building. looking forward to my return. Would recommend you visit this pub.

Recently went to shrewsbury and I love this pub with all the history,it was great, also landlady was lovely a polite and the bass cask ale was on point. All in all was a great experience and worth just popping in

Happened upon this gem of a place while on a day trip to the town.beautiful pub full of history. The uncovered medieval wall painting is very interesting. The landlady/manager made us feel very welcome and I would recommend this pub for a visit.

On a rather damp day in April, when we were visiting Shrewsbury, we were attracted to the King's Head. It's such a characterful building, apparently dating back over 800 years! Of particular interest, as it was lunchtime, was the sign outside advertising a carvery. What...More

We had come here based on some ‘word of mouth’ recommendations that the carvery was delicious. The result was more of a damp squib.....we arrived and paid for two standard carveries and were told to sit down as they weren’t quite ready to serve yet....More
