First impressions of Darwin's Townhouse are exceptional. The tasteful and stylish decor throughout follows an evolutionary theme, with references to nature and geology in the framed prints, ornaments and wallpaper. Tucked away down a small side street it's location is perfect with the River Severn and Wyle Cop within a short walk. We stayed for 2 nights in Room 4,...

Stayed at Darwins on our way back from Brecon. Ann was fabulous upgraded us and also booked us into a restaurant as we were arriving late. Would highly recommend a stay here - fabulous decor, beds incredibly comfy and the garden is wonderful. Breakfast was excellent also - if we're ever in Shrewsbury again we will definitely be booking into...

As a last minute treat, we took opportunity to stay for a night. What a beautifully decorated and fantastically themed place. Most impressed and will definitely return! The honesty bar is a lovely touch and makes the experience feel very homely and welcoming. We had a curry but the two restaurants recommended by staff looked lovely and when we return...

Very high class accommodation in a central location, with convenient parking that is free in the evening. Rooms are modern and tasteful, with an evolutionary twist! Terrific breakfast (with delicious sausages), served in an airy attractive restaurant. Honesty bar is a cosy place for a night cap and friendly chat.

Lovely hotel with tasteful decor throughout. Location idea for exploring Shrewsbury Town. Breakfast was fine first morning on the second day 2 rashers of bacon became 1 and 1 mushroom was reduced to half as for the baked beans well they were well hidden under the half mushroom . On saying that we had a fabulous time and wouldn't hesitate...

Stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday weekend. Very nice and friendly welcome, and the room we were given was very nice, very clean and nicely furnished. It was obvious that the place hadn't been open too long since refurbishment, as everything still smelled new. The garden to the rear was a lovely place to relax and catch...

We stayed two nights over the regatta weekend and were blown away by this lovely gem of a place. In fact we're currently planning a return visit with my parents. The decor has lots of attention to detail and is aptly Darwin-themed. The breakfasts were just so delicious with fresh, local produce, and really well done. There is even an...

We went to Shrewsbury because my daughter was competing in the regatta. Darwin's Townhouse seemed ideal location wise (very close to the river) and good value for a one night stay. Read previous reviews and despite some unfavourable comments from previous visitors opted to stay here. What a great decision too. Darwin's townhouse is a Georgian building. It has 20...

This hotel is right in the Centre of Salisbury and everything is newly and tastefully refurbished with a Darwin theme. The welcome was warm and friendly and informative. Our room with ensuite and Malton Brown toiletries provided and lovely fluffy white towels and the most beautiful dragonfly blinds was delightful. The bed was also so comfy with lovely white sheets...
