I have stayed at the Merchant house before and found it a very comfortable and good place to use as a base for exploring the nearby villages. This last time we again used it as a base to wander further afield and into the Welsh Hills of Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. The house is a gem with really ancient...

We have just spent 2 nights at the Merchant House and thoroughly enjoyed it. The accommodation is spacious, clean and comfortable. It is about 7 minutes walk from the centre of Ludlow. Rosemary the owner is very friendly and gave us really good recommendations for restaurants and pubs and other attractions in Ludlow. The breakfast was the best we have...

A very welcoming B&B, tucked away not too far from the centre, a very comfortable room as well as an incredible (almost infinite) breakfast. The building inside and out is utterly charming, as is Rosemary the host. Stayed here with a friend on her first visit to England and what a perfectly English experience it was. Very clean and tidy....

Hidden away in a quiet street but only 5-10 minutes' walk from the town centre, this historic building has bags of charm and comfort and a couple of really lovely hosts who will do all they can to look after you. Excellent beds, beautiful well-appointed rooms and truly splendid breakfasts. Don't be put off by the fact that there is...

No quibbles at all with what was a fantastic 4 days stay in this lovely guest house with history and charm. No other guests as there is just the one 2 room apartment available. The proprietors Rosemary and Jonathan provide hospitality, a sensational breakfast and lots of fascinating insights and advice about the surroundings area's point of interest, and most...

The Merchant House is a beautiful, old, timbered black and white house with an interesting history. Our very comfortable room was spacious and even had a small attached lounge to relax in. It is located about 5 or 6 minutes' walk from the centre of Ludlow and a couple of doors away is the quiet Unicorn pub serving local ales...

Lots of character situated within walking distance of Ludlows main thoroughfare. Our bedroom overlooked the Main Street; however, it was very quiet and peaceful. Rosemary's attention to detail is first rate and it's fair to say that she puts on the very best breakfast spread we have ever had! All produce is locally sourced and the selection and variety on...

Cannot speak too highly of The Merchant House. We had a very enjoyable four night stay at this characterful building, in the beautiful market town of Ludlow. We'd visited the town a number of times before and love Ludlow, but staying at The Merchant House made it an even more enjoyable stay. Rosemary and Jonathan are perfect hosts and made...

This is such a lovely bed and breakfast. The owners Rosemary and Johnathon are fantastic hosts, so much knowledge about the town. The breakfasts are to die for, you certainly won't need to have lunch! The bedroom is really comfortable and plenty of room. If you are a couple then you get the adjoining room as well, so it's like...
