So lovely to find a truly traditional Pub run entirely by family or locals known to the family. The atmosphere created is one of true dedication to its customers and their comfort and this makes for a cosy friendly family pub. Food is varied and very reasonable giving choices of regular Pub Grub and some more adventurous offerings. Thoroughly enjoyable...

From the staff at the Inn, (that includes you Steve), and the people and attractions in the local area it was one of the most relaxing and great holidays we have had in years. Thank you all for a special time, John and Lesley.

Stayed for 3 night break with half board option so ate there every night. Excellent traditional pub food served hot every time. We had family room with all usual facilities, very cosy with view of river. Landlord Steve was very chatty and does most of the running himself including the lovely full English breakfast with superb fried bread. Ideal base...

I know one should not concentrate on fried potatoes when starting a review but I felt that these chips were really very special. We only visited this pub because the first one we went to had stopped serving food and the second one had actually almost run out of beer only offering lager. They were in fact closed throughout the...

We went last night as a party of four. Its a good job we booked as the place was full at 7pm. We all ordered and despite how busy it was our meals arrived a short time later. Our meals were excellent, i had steak which was of high quality and cooked to perfection. The pub is quite old fashioned...

Stayed for 2 nights and ate at the hotel. Some things to be aware of.... The hotel reception is not manned all through the day. We were advised to check-in at 1700 but arrived at 1630 and could not get into the hotel till the proprietor arrived at 1700. There is no lift and there are a lot of stairs...

We really enjoyed our time at the Bird in Hand. We had dinner there our first night which was very nice and convenient and the food came very quickly. The room was very comfortable and Steve the owner is very warm, welcoming, and helpful. We extended our stay due to how much we were enjoying ourselves at the Bird in...

Our first visit to the Bird in the Hand. The entire experience from making the initial phone reservation to the greeting when we arrived and the waiting staff would put larger chain establishments to shame. A really varied menu with good pub grub dishes. In fact it was one of the best pub meals we have had for a very...

We called by here on a Sunday drive. What a treat, a proper traditional pub with friendly staff. Two meals were ordered, gammon which came with 2 eggs, chips and peas. Ham, 2 x eggs and Jacket potato. Both meals were well priced with very tasty. We will defiantly visit again when we are that way again!

Having stayed in many types of similar types of accommodation in Ironbridge it is clear that the Bird in Hand is in desperate need of a facelift. It would also be a good idea to lose some of the many notices that are posted throughout the place and the same goes for the dated horse brasses. On the plus side...
