This lacked the normality of a hotel. Halifax Hall was at one time Halls of Residence for Sheffield university and it still has that feel about it. The rooms were comfortable and the food was good, but the reception and dining areas lacked atmosphere. I would not stay here again.

We booked a room here on 23/4/17 to stay for one night on 20/5/17. On 15/5/17 received an email from hotel to say there was a Wedding on that day, not to worry it shouldn't affect our stay with bar/restaurant/breakfast service being as normal. Fair enough we thought. Anyway check-in was smooth enough, shown to our compact room 111 which...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was outstanding with a beautiful view out over the garden. WiFi excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was of an acceptable standard. A disadvantage was the small car park that doesn't guarantee a space. The good tea and coffee making facilities needed more regular servicing as the machine had run...

Booked in on the spur of the moment while visiting our son. Nice hotel with old world style and treatment but in an up to date decor. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and the breakfast was good. As a pescatarian it was nice to have several choices. Room was compact but adequate for our needs, good shower/bathroom space. No...

I stayed the night on business in Sheffield and got a great rate of £82 Diner bed and breakfast. The staff were really friendly and could not do more to help. Tea and coffee facilities next to my room. Excellent dinner in pleasant surroundings. I would defiantly recommend this hotel. Very good value for money.

Reasonable room rate. Very small rooms but spacious showroom - you get what you pay for... Good breakfast, efficient check in and out with very pleasant staff. Good location for visiting kids at University.

Lovely hotel, very clean and well kept with a nice 24hr bar area. Very limited food options during the day. The room was tiny and stifling hot overnight with no air con option. The breakfast was appalling. Everything was overcooked, hard and basically inedible. The bacon especially was like rock. I would expect it from a buffet but we ordered...

This was a brief stay for a reunion of fellow old students from many years ago. We were not expecting everything to be perfect as the rate was very good and it was just one night. In fact we were generally pleased with most things. We arrived to find parking an issue as could not see any places. However after...

Stayed here recently and disappointed ! Our bedroom was very small (claustrophobic actually) and incredibly hot, felt like a sweat box ! Carpet needed vacuuming apparently after the linen man had been and we had tread in all his mess into our bedroom. Towelling robes good, but slippers are a joke - nothing more than two bits of cardboard! Waited...

Stayed at Halifax Hall for one night over the bank holiday. Great price and despite not in the city centre so close to the charming Broomhill and just as close to Eccy road with free secure parking was great. Room was small but very comfortable. Liked the very spacious bathroom especially the roll top bath. Breakfast was disappointing but the...
