I am not a comparer. It's about what they do with what they have, not a deluded vision of what I might have liked to have. My priorities are : Good food with a hint of imagination, well kept ale, a safe place to leave...More
We've been to a lot of calverys over the years but Curley by far is the best! The meats are cooked beautifully and there is plenty of choice of vegetables! Staff friendly and helpful. Just remember to book in advance because it's so good it...More
Every time we visit here the ambience is miserable, the food is not that good and the service appears chaotic even when it is quiet.

I used to love this place, my mum and I used to walk up for lunch and enjoy our afternoon there. Cubley hall is always nice to have dinner there, used to go often. Food is lovely and so is the service.
I booked this hotel last minute on the web the location and comfort looked great and it was. I booked the last room available a small double. It was as said on the tin but that was fine as I was only staying one night....More

Hi Emma, well while we were there only the guests were using the gardens and pavilion area however it is not exclusively for the use by the wedding function as the pub has a wide patio door which anyone can use to gain access to this area. As I say we were there all day and never saw anyone else use the gardens apart from the wedding function. Most other parties appeared to be there for the pub grub which looked to be really good and popular. There is no direct entry to the gardens from the Barn so you would have to use the Car park i'm afraid. Personally if we were to get married again we would'nt hesitate in booking Cubley Hall as the hosts, the food and running of the event was was handled great. Hope this helps. Cheers Paul
