I stayed overnight at Strines Inn after my first day of a five day walk through the Peak District. After seven hours on a plane, an hour on trains, a thirty minute bus ride and a ten kilometre walk, I was happy to walk through the front door of this inn all by itself on the edge of a moor....

Visiting my son at Sheffield uni and we were looking for a pub within half an hour of Sheffield for Sunday lunch where we could also have a good walk. This was an ideal venue with a real Yorkshire Sunday dinner experience. After a 2 hour walk nearby we were certainly hungry and really appreciated the fast and friendly service....

I have never actually stayed overnight here but I have eaten here a few times with my family and every time the food has been absolutely amazing, with the sundaes for dessert especially good. With every room having a fire as well it is a great place to go for a meal, especially if you have a dog as they...

After visiting this Inn regularly for at least 25 years I wanted to treat my partner to a lovely romantic surprise night away from home and I was very lucky that the Inn had a cancellation for last night! We were checked in to the Fitzwilliam suite which has all the wonderful 'Olde Worlde' charm you could wish for, four...

I went here recently with family, the pub is a beautiful old building surrounded entirely by the gorgeous British countryside but going inside the place is a massive anticlimax. The furnishings are tired and are a total mismatch with odd chairs and tables and the place is covered in cobwebs, a thick layer of dust can be seen on some...

Fantastic food, great portion sizes, homemade chips, quick service, lovely old fashioned pub seeping in history. Only one quibble a little detailed cleaning and maintenance. Other than that fantastic place I am sure we will visit again.

Most has been said about this charming place to stay over, four poster beds give it the character enjoyed by some. Hotel? I would like to think of The Strines Inn as an 'Inn' in the traditional Travellers Rest way. In the heart of the Peak District well off the beaten track with un-usual features. The narrow, twisting roads out...
