Wanted a quiet drink but had to step over & listen to barking dogs. Dog owners oblivious to annoying everyone else. Friendly staff though & would have liked to another drink & some food but for animals

Hi Mazza, We are a country/town hotel. Dogs are more then welcome here, with Blenheim Palace on our doorstep and some of the most beautiful Oxfordshire countryside on all sides it would be a crime not to allow them . However the owners should keep their dogs under control. I will catch up with the duty managers and ensure they speak to any unruly owners (we can't be blaming the dogs, it is like blaming misbehaving children!) that aren't taking care of our furry friends! Kind regards Luke

Hi Debra, That was a very rare occasion and the Police were informed and I understand the situation was resolved very quickly, something that didn't begin on our premises but at a nearby establishment. Is there anything you would like to see on our menu? We have 4-3 Vegetarian / Vegan options. 3-4 Fish options and 5-6 various meat dishes. Everything is freshly cooked to order and we love serving fresh food! Kind regards Luke

Unusual bar but friendly enough and good service. Didn’t stop to eat as we’d watched the neigbouring table be servedvtheir lunch and it was just typical pub grub but mothing special and we were looking for a little more.

Thanks Jeannius, be sure to check the menu and the specials next time you are in. We have great quality pub food and something a little more special, especially on our specials boards

We have been here before & decided to meet up with family for a meal to celebrate a belated birthday for one of our party. When we arrived we ordered a pint of London pride ( main reason for coming to this pub!) and were advised sorry we don’t have any but we will have some

Good morning, I can only apologise for your experience. Our London Pride was missed off the dray on the Wednesday and sent out to us on Friday. Real ale takes 2-3 days before it is ready to serve. We got it back on as quickly as we could without putting on a poor quality ale. I was on that day, but unfortunately got pulled into the kitchen due to a couple of issues outwith our control that would have impacted your wait and reduced the staff presence on the floor. Kind regards Luke

Why do restaurants vary from one month to another so greatly in quality? I ask because this restaurant was quite good when we last went for dinner three months ago. But on Saturday 23rd February we took an American visitor there for lunch and the food and service were so bad

Are the hotel rooms dog friendly?
Hi Axel, Unfortunately, at present, we do not have any dog friendly rooms. We are hoping to rectify this when we have our refurbishment in the New Year.
