We have stayed here a few times with our children while visiting local family in the area - our experience has always been positive. Lovely clean accommodation, nice food, excellent room service and very well proportioned rooms set out brilliantly for a family of 4. Perfect location and lots of character. My kids loved the breakfast.

This building is not some modern day hotel, it has all the quaint charm of a centuries old building. It's worth the effort of having no lift the rooms are great and quirky and the staff are super. Our stay was excellent though with jet lag we couldn't make the 9am breakfast cut off. The town is incredibly beautiful and...

The first impressions were good. A quaint old hotel in the village centre well located to walk into Blenheim Palace. Check in was efficient and friendly and we were upgraded so a very good start. After a walk around Woodstock we called in at the bar for a drink before changing for dinner and after a long wait whilst the...

We booked our stay of two nights through Secret Escapes, staying in a classic room with dinner on one evening. Our room was in the courtyard which is lovely and quiet ,the bedroom and en-suite were both spotless with a cosy feel, the hotel itself is very old and quaint ( a glove factory many years ago) The breakfasts were...

Obviously the location is fabulous and Woodstock is a charming, if very busy town. We have known The Bear for many years and this was a bit of a trip down memory lane. Plus points- the staff were very pleasant. Room fine/adequate but nice to get home to my own spacious bedroom. Cold breakfast was fine but don't try the...

I chose this hotel as it's a few minutes walk from Blenheim Palace. It's location is brilliant just a few minutes walk. I loved the olde worlde charm of the hotel. The hotel has ample parking and is in the middle of the village king walking everywhere very easy. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was...

Really lovely hotel full of Great British character. We booked for two nights whilst away for business in Coventry on a deal via secret escapes. I therefore expected to be given a basic room so was surprised at the beautiful room we got right up in the eves with lovely beamed ceilings. It had a sitting area and even a...

Ideally located for Oxford city break and Blenheim Palace. Took advantage of the discounted Winter rates which made the Executive Double room affordable for restricted budgets. Also, booking your evening meal 24hrs in advance gets another discount (if I remember correctly, £25pp for 3 courses) - see my review of their restaurant. The room was an interesting arrangement (doglegged), with...

We had a 4-poster bedded room that was very quaint and country cottage style, complete with squeaky floorboards which was in-keeping with the style and age. Very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast.. Dinner was also very nice. With a spring deal the value was good and service overall was good. Blenheim Palace is about 500 yards away making it a...
