This is such a brilliant property. The converted prison makes for just the most fun experience. The cells in the main block are brilliantly converted. Very comfortable and cosy spaces with big bathrooms next door. The atrium makes for a very dramatic entrance. Good breakfast downstairs and helpful staff. Although there always tends to be a queue at reception. Been...

We stayed here whilst attending a ghost hunt of Oxford Castle. The hotel is lovely, the food is a must and I would also recommend one of the cell rooms. It's been refurbished to an excellent standard whilst still maintaining all its original features. Be aware that you must book parking in advance and this it's rather expensive costing £30...

Stayed here on the Sunday Stopover deal which was excellent value. The hotel itself is well presented and in a unique setting. We just had a standard room and after having a peek at the cell rooms we don't feel they would add that much to your experience. The room was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was...

We booked a lunchtime table for a party of nine for a birthday celebration and the whole experience was a long way from what we had expected. Service was slow, and a three course meal took 3.5 hours, in the end with us asking when we would get some food. Starters took almost one hour from ordering, but were of...

Well this was only our second time staying in a former prison. The time before was in Spain. They must have spent a lot of money converting it to the really nice hotel that it is now. Will visit again if in Oxford.

Stayed on a bed and bubbles deal on a Sunday night. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing... a converted prison. Our room was basically three cells knocked through. The attention to detail is brilliant, with many of the original features retained. Having stayed in many different hotels that all blend into one after time I think it highly unlikely I...

Great place to base a visit to oxford, located centrally and easy walk from the station if required. Conversion from the prison done extremely well, rooms spacious and well furnished. Communal areas are just stunning. We ate in the brasserie where the food was very good but the service pretty slow, but to be honest that did not bother us...

I had heard a lot about this hotel so was very excited to get an opportunity to book it for our first weekend away with our 4 week old son. There was no issue with accommodating our newborn and the room (suite) was big enough to house all our bits and pieces (pram, travel cot, etc). The actual hotel is...
