The hotel is located on a quiet street in the center of Oxford. Everything is a convenient walk from there, and it is perfectly located for sightseeing. The staff is very friendly and they made excellent restaurant recommendations. The standard room was comfortable and functional and not overly large for the price (this comes with being a quaint hotel in...

I stayed in a Superior double room for 1 night. Right from a check in process a female receptionist was very nice and helpful to explain how to get to the College and where to get good restaurant for my dinner. Then a nice guy who kindly allowed me to call him J. directed me to my room and answered...

Superb hotel in the center of Oxford very close to the best walking, shopping, and restaurants. Excellent beds and perfect breakfasts. But what really makes a small luxury hotel is the absolutely charming receptionists. One of them even lugged my two suitcases up two flights without the slightest hesitation.

Wonderfully located hotel, with the suites that have their own gardens very special. I thought the service provided by Katherina (sp?) at front desk to be outstanding, really to be commended. Nothing too much trouble, and everything handled very efficiently with a smile. We will certainly be back

Needed to find a place to stay in Oxford City Centre at short notice, close to rail station and bus stops for visiting relative in hospital. Also specifically wanted a twin bedded room as my wife had recently had surgery herself. This hotel fitted the bill perfectly and was a delightful place to stay. Reception and booking staff could not...

A very enjoyable stay with Vanrbrugh. The hotel has a great location, just a block from a main street in the center of town, yet our room was very quiet, and had a lovely large private patio and two bathtubs. Could easily walk to all the sights we wanted to see.

Our family of four just spent a wonderful evening at the Vanbrugh Hotel. Accommodations were charming and clean. The history of the building was magical. The location is ideal for walking anywhere. A perfect and most memorable stay!

This is a well located hotel with a very polite staff. Room was on the dark side...somewhat dreary gray. Very comfortable bed and nice breakfast. Easy to walk to central bus station for express bus to Heathrow. A bit pricey for our trip budget but would definitely stay here again because of location.

“Room 26 very quiet and more than adequate for overnight stay when 2 beds needed.”
IanG367, 21 Apr 2017 | Read review
“Only small thing I wish is that they stocked a few more items in the complimentary fridge/bar. It looks a bit sparse, and the room was over £300 a night. They had one can of regular coke, one diet, one sparkling water, one still, a mini-carton of milk, four cookies, a kit-kat bar, and a bag of crisps. It would have been nice to have a jar of mixed nuts, some fruit, higher-end cookies (maybe fresh local made), etc. This would fit better with the premier costs and the other amenities of the room. For instance the bathroom has a bench for two; a standalone, glass, walk in shower; two facing standalone tubs; glass chandelier, and a flatscreen TV. ”
