Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful, vegan diet accommodated with a beautiful breakfast. Charming rooms with lovely old furniture, good quality complementary refreshments. Delightful stay, thanks!

Ordered fish and chips and did not have to wait long as not many customers in the pub. The fish looked as though it had been over cooked and was very greasy and had no taste the chips were soggy and the mushy peas were tasteless.

The staff was very welcoming and polite. The room was warm, clean and had everything we needed. We also had breakfast in the morning, which was great. Very good location because it is next to the river, and few minutes to the centre.

Enjoyed location. Restaurant was excellent. Staff superior. All members. This is a B and B, but has great atmosphere. Can be noisy depending on room as it is located on the Main Street. But that is also the reason to select it.

My husband booked this hotel to stay for 1 night on my birthday. We parked on the outskirts and used the park and ride into Oxford itself. This cost about £3.30 p/p one way. There was a return option but didn't see this in time. We drove past the pub and the next available stop was opposite the Police Station...

Pro - it was clean and friendly furnished - welcoming staff - room was warm and had a comfortable bed - the food is very good contra - The staff gave us dissonant information about the breakfast was included or not (yes it was, but we found out on day 3) and about the opening times, which gave us a...

Hi Aurelia, Thanks for leaving your review. I am pleased you found the pub and staff welcoming and friendly. Apologies about the breakfast mix up, we know how important breakfast is to our guests so nearly all of our rates are booked as B&B. Who ever checked you in has assumed you knew when you booked. This is a really...

My girlfriend had phoned the establishment earlier that evening to make sure there wasn't a private function to make sure I could take my girlfriend's parents to what I thought would be a really enjoyable place to see in the new year. So after having gone to a lovely show we were really looking forward to being at this establishment...

Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your review. My apologies that we couldn't serve you on New Years eve. As we attempted to explain before you hung up there were only 3-4 other custoemrs here at 10pm and we decided that it wasn't busy enough to stay open. This is a decision that we do not take lightly and if it was...

I had a really pleasant stay at the Head of the River. The room was clean, and had everything I needed. The minor problems, though, were the weird sound while I was sleeping, and that the room was a bit dark. Would have been nicer were it brighter. Also the breakfast was very delicious! I had full English.
