The Galaxie has the potential to be a very good hotel however from our experience it has a long way to go. 4 star it is not. Service is minimal though it is clean. It is in a convenient location in Summertown though it is quite a long walk into the Centre of Oxford. The buffet style breakfast was Ok...

We stayed there for our 10th wedding anniversary and had an amazing stay. We had a warm welcome from the time we arrived from the time we left. We had the large double room which was extremely clean with a very modern room. Room had tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was stacked up with plentiful toiletries and towels....

I stayed in this hotel for two nights in June with my family for a weekend in Oxford. The hotel was ideally situated in Summertown and was only a ten/fifteen minute walk from the town centre. The hotel provided free parking which was great as parking in Oxford can be a nightmare and very expensive. We had two of the...

We stayed at The Galaxie for a 2 night stay in Oxford. The hotel has parking - ideal- and is situated an energetic walk from the centre. For those less energetic there is a very good bus service. The area offers good shopping and a variety of restaurants. The Patisserie opposite is worth a visit. The room we had was...

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would consider the Galaxie again, especially if the cost is much less than better located hotels. The location was our biggest negative. It was a 30 minute walk from the main bus station (located next to the city center area). A taxi was between 4 and 8 GBP, which is what we opted for...

Enjoyed my stay here. Parking around the back of the hotel is ideal. Nice environment and nice clean rooms. Only negative was the lack of evening meal, however Summertown is a lovely area with plenty of restaurants around the hotel so there is more than enough to choose from should you find yourself, as I did, looking for something to...

Stayed one night to break up a long car journey, an ideal location, turn left for the centre of Oxford, turn right for restaurents & shops. I requested & got a quite room at the rear, however the room was so hot I had to open the window which increased the noise level. There is only enough room to park...

The Galaxie was a great place to stay. I had a single room which was small but very well organised and appointed, especially the bathroom which was immaculate. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast in the beautiful conservatory overlooking the pretty garden was delicious with a great deal of choice. One advantage of the location is that...

This is a clean and comfortable hotel, extremely well placed for visiting Oxford. There are frequent buses to the city centre and the hotel has a hotline to a taxi service which provides almost instant transport. Or if you prefer to walk, it's about 30 minutes to the centre. It was a hot night when we stayed there, and there...

Overall an excellent hotel. The single room was tiny but beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful, great food and beautiful dining room. The hotel is located in Summertown, about a mile from the center of Oxford. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel (the fare was 2.10) and the bus drops you off right...
