Avoid at all cost if you have bad eyesight and don't like wet condensation! Very noisy toilet and fan in bathroom. Windows left open on ground floor when we where out for the day, good job we had our laptop in car with us.

Stayed here for two nights in room number 4. The rooms are a little small but for amount of time stayed in them it wasn't too bad. Bedroom is very nicely set out and the bathroom spacious and clean. The hotel itself was nice and cosy but prices on the expensive side with no usual pub meals available for a...

Food is good but drinks are super expensive. One double gin and tonic cost me £9.20...Absolutely ridic. Couldn't afford anything else after that. Good for a family meal, but definitely not affordable if you are a student and going for drinks with friends!

Needing a local place to stay the night before a round of golf at nearby Studley Wood I chanced upon (actually found via Tripadvisor) The Talkhouse. A charming country pub, the food and drink were first class on quality and quantity. Rooms were ok, just a tad tired with a slight air of functionality and could benefit from some updating....

This charming classically English pub does not disappoint. The food is exceptionally good value - beautifully prepared, with great care - this chef knows what he is doing... Seasonal food in portions that don't overwhelm - don't come here if you love a heaving platter, it's not for you. But if you look for food and wonderful flavours that make...

Last minute decision to have lunch here on bank holiday monday. Best decision made in a long time! Lovely menu, superb food, superbly presented. Cannot fault the place, food or staff, all absolutely delightful. Many thanks to the staff and proprietor for getting everything just right.

This is a pretty pub in a country location. I have been there twice - both times at midday following visits to the Oxford Crematorium. I think catering for funeral parties is their main business as it is the closest to the Crematorium. It is a historic building with some low doorways and beams. The decoration could do with some...

We did't stay in the hotel but came for dinner; lovely décor, roaring fires, comfy armchairs, and great food. Staff very attentive and knew the menu well. Quiet but a good atmosphere and about £80 for two three course dinners, drinks and nibbles. enjoyed it so much we stayed after our meal for an hour drinking wine infront of the...

The Talkhouse has only 4 rooms. You hardly get there without driving. It is very exclusive and about 20 minutes’ drive to town. The room is unique but the extractor was a little noisy in the night. This extractor keeps the electricity supply goes on. It has a bar cum restaurant. Fantastic service, beer and great food. Value for money....

We stayed in two of the four rooms in the stables situated at the back of the thatched pub. First impressions? Charming, quaint, secluded. My complaints are with the bathroom. The bath is quite high sided with no grip handles so could be a problem for people with accessibility problems. It is also quite narrow so showering was a fight...
