The Buttery Hotel is a small, but superbly placed hotel. I stayed here with my husband for New Year and we found that the accommodation was comfortable but not exceptional. Our room (described as a superior accommodation on our booking web site) was small with a very dated décor and a small on-suite. The room was clean enough but we...

The Buttery Hotel is a B&B located in the center of Oxford on Broad Street, about two blocks north of "High" Street. Thus, you can reach any school or place in Oxford shortly while walking from it. It is directly across from the oldest college at Oxford, Balliol College, and easy to find if you take the bus from London,...

Comfortable & clean accommodation and very centrally located. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the breakfast - it was cold & disappointing. There are other breakfast options around that would be a better bet.

Stayed at the buttery in the last week of Dec. The rooms were surprisingly large and quite comfortable. The location could not be better with everything in Oxford just a few steps away. We did have some issues with the heating in our room, so they had to give us a free standing heater which was pretty bright when switched...

I have to stay in Oxford quite often with work but this occasion was very last minute and my options were limited so i stayed here. The welcome was very friendly. The room was surprisingly big, and whilst basic was fine, particularly given the cost of the room in a very central Oxford location. I was worried about noise and...

We stayed here on Boxing Day evening after an exhausting few days in London, and were impressed by the location, the friendly and helpful staff and the superbly comfortable beds in our Twin room. I slept like a baby. As other reviews have said, it is not a hotel for thosewhoare not fully mobile, but I would expect visitors to...

We had a one night stay in the Buttery hotel. It is right in the centre of Oxford so we used the park and ride service as you are able to leave your car there for 24 hours or longer. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly welcome. Our room was perfectly adequate as we didn't Plan on spending...

Booked a Saturday night at the end of October. We just wanted a central place to stay in Oxford. It was certainly central! The reception is on the first floor and the receptionist was very helpful, giving us directions and details of restaurants, she provided us with a map and circled where we needed to go. We booked a deluxe...

This is a basic and quirky B&B/Guesthouse (I think it is misleading to call it a hotel). We had a standard twin room at the back of the hotel for our two night stay. The room was clean and the hospitality tray very welcome. There were plenty of electrical sockets. There were complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, which was also...

iPhone and £70 cash gone AFTER paying at counter. Staff not a bit interested. Watch your belongings and keep them safe. Beautiful location, reasonably priced for location, fast efficient service. Street seating = pick-pockets paradise. Be cautious.

It is never nice when you lose personal belongings. However I do feel you are being a little harsh on The Buttery in this case. After you ordered and left the counter you came back and asked if you had left your phone at the till. The manager said he had not seen one and asked his staff if they...
