Booked several weeks in advance. Naively agreed to the 'rack' rate of £175 for a King room, breakfast included. Expectations were high but we were bitterly disappointed. Reminiscent of Faulty Towers. Low points were the grumpy barman (locals assured us it wasn't just us, he's rude to 'everyone', the breakfast chef having a major shouting fit, for which the waiter...

Table booked for 6:30 on Thursday, when we arrived our table was ready and we were seated straight away. The hotel is beautiful, very oldy, worldy with a warm atmosphere plus doggie friendly! We were seated and given menus, no drinks order taken, i had to ask to order drinks when we ordered our mains. ordered food, which took over an...

On arrival we were shown to our room by George, who was lovely and quite funny! Definitely a character. It felt like he knew how rubbish the hotel was! If they put you in room 21 "Chambers", tell them to move you! Refuse that room! Noisy! Door creaking from about 06:30 in the morning! Fag and vape smoke drifting through...

Lovely old georgian hotel, beautiful decoration and furnishings . Room small but still lovely. This place was nice but could be better. The staff could be a bit more attentive and precise. Little things like , at breakfast, making sure you are asked if you would like any toast or tomato sauce etc or checking that you have everything you...

I was treated to dinner by my brother, who I was up visiting. We arrived, and while we were dismissed by the staff, we eventually managed to get a table. The problems however started when we ordered food. At first our order was taken by a lovely waiter. Three waiters then suddenly appeared at our table and demanded that we...

We stayed for one night and the place is absolutely crazy. Not in a bad way at all, rather in quite a cool, eccentric English way! The decor is bizarre with mixes of everything but it sort of works. There are aspects of the place that are tired and could really do with renovating but it looks like they're undertaking...

Lovely decor and building. But Management need to take more control. Bar staff very abrupt and not welcoming. Breakfast was terrible the next morning. No one controlling the service, we were informed that a member of Management of the restaurant had walked out. Which was what we felt like doing. A number of people were waiting for someone to even...

Only went for food with the family. The food was good however the member of staff behind the bar was extremely rude and made us feel very unwelcome. If you are looking for a quirky central hotel it is ideal. (providing you avoid the bar area)

The room smelt damp and was generally tired. The carpet was well-worn and there were marks on the walls. The room felt cramped - so much space had been taken out of the room to create the bathroom that the bed occupied most of the room. There wasn't a chair to sit on as there wasn't room for one. The...

This is a lovely looking hotel and we came for a meal with friends. We arrived on time but no one acknowledged us for the first 5 minutes then we were told there would be a delay because of a big table. No one offered us drinks so ordered at the bar. After about 20 minutes our order was taken...
