Called for a midweek lunch, on the basis that we ate here about 5 years ago & enjoyed it! Still as lovely as ever, a real classic pub which has the original interior & interesting pictures & memorabilia from the old brewery next door. The Camra awards are well deserved as the beers were interesting & well kept. Excellent food,...

Received the same warm and friendly welcome when we arrived, pub area lovely, warm, cosy and very festive, a proper pub! Room upstairs on this visit, slightly larger than last time with a Queen bed, not a lot to see out of the window, though that was due to the thick fog. Good tea/coffee facilities. Nice furniture, though the Mrs...

We came up on Saturday afternoon and e ate our evening meal in the pub and it was lovely. The pub was not at all clicky. The room was great and the breakfast was nice. The staff were friendly throughout and would recommend it to anyone.

The car parking was poorly signposted we had to ask someone. When we did find it it was completely unlit. The pub was noisy, the music too loud. The food was adequate when it arrived. We shant be back.

Have stayed a few times as near offices for work, but this time was not as welcoming. We arrived at 18:05 on a Sunday evening and only found out that the kitchen closes at 18:00 on Sundays!! Not so good as we had a long drive and were looking forward to a meal and a relaxed beer then sleep! There...

This place is a real gem. Old and rambling oozing charm with staff that all so pleasant. We had large ensuite room well appointed with everything you would need. The best nights sleep I've had in a long while. The food was very good and plenty of it, all this for an unbelievable price. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This pub is a great place for a decent family meal, or to grab a quiet corner with the wife! Beer always good, plenty of guest ales. The bar staff are friendly and the food is good value. Glad this pub is in the town.

A local pub and hotel with a good selection of beers and ales. The food is very good and homemade. The pub boasts character, with three real fire places. The staff are friendly and add a personal touch to your visit. There's a popular quiz night on Sundays and they bring round sandwiches it's all very lovely. For good weather...
