Beautiful setting, lovely house, comfortable room, great breakfast, perfect welcome and hospitality. The owner was called away shortly after our arrival for a family emergency but we were still very well looked after. Would not look to stay anywhere else if we were visiting the area again.

We enjoyed a very pleasant night out at Stanshope Hall.It is perfectly sited for local walks in Derbyshire. We were welcomed and shown to our room and then offered home made flapjack and afternoon tea in the drawing room. The building has great character and is nicely decorated with a blend of the history of the place plus all the...

I surprised my wife with a night at "Stanshope Hall" (on our way home from looking after our grandchildren in Sheffield). It was great to find that Naomi still runs the B+B. She welcomed us with tea and cakes in her lovely garden, and produced a tattered Guest Book from the 1980s, in which we discovered that our first visit...

The room was very nice, large and comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous. The weather was cold outside and so was the inside... The facilities were excellent, the room absolutely clean. The wifi worked perfectly. The location is also ideal to visit the houses and parks of the National Trust or the Peak District.

We stayed as we wanted to walk in the Peak District and shake off Winter cobwebs. The location near Dovedale was perfect. We arrived and were warmly welcomed. The Gardens and views are amazing. Being shown to our room (it was a large airy room with King Size Bed). The decoration is somewhat seventies and a bit mixed up. A...

Just stayed at Stanshope Hall for the third time. Lovely staff who go that extra mile to help. On this occasion we were running late for dinner and Naomi rang and delayed the table for us, having first brought coffee, tea and homemade flapjacks to our room while we got ready. Lovely breakfast, again brought by a very friendly and...

Having opted for a B&B rather than a hotel for a one night break we found Stanshope Hall and decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed as although it is not the easiest place to locate, on arrival we were given a warm welcome showed to our spacious & spotless room and invited to the drawing room,...

Gem of a place, excellent breakfast, location and welcome; faultless attention to detail thanks!! Naomi knows her stuff offering a wealth of experience warmth and information about local eateries and phoned bookings for us. It helps that there are only three rooms with plenty of space. This allows the personal touch to shine through.

Welcome was lovely, the lady showed us where breakfast would be served, the drawing room which she told us to use as our own and to our room. We had a sofa in our room so didn't need to use the drawing room but it was nice to feel welcome. Nice big Victorian bath, utter bliss after a nice meal...
