The food took 40 minutes to get to the table, no one came over or advised us of this and the pub was pretty empty when we arrived, though lots of seats reserved. When the food did arrive the veg seemed crunchy (looking at portions) potentially bagged and microwaved. Mine was meant to come with new potatoes but arrived with...

Thanks for taking the time to review us. Three new staff on Sunday and getting used to their new jobs.....we were unaware of any issues, as they were not raised to us on your visit which is key to us righting any wrong. This forum is the wrong way to do it in our opinion but are not allowed to...

Stayed the night - staff excellent - food ok but took quite a while and not that busy. Room just made us laugh, very country pub type, huge bathroom. Really noisy as above kitchen fans which don't go off till 10pm.

We visited after seeing the signs on the A14 but were quite disappointed. The food was slow , as I suspect they were understaffed in the kitchen and it took 35 minutes for a very poor lasagne and lacklustre burger to arrive. It is not cheap. The lasagne was very dried up and tasteless, the chips were very bland and...

Thanks for your review.. speed has been as issue and staff levels have been altered based on how busy we are getting. In terms of price we are far from expensive based on local competition. Many Thanks Rob

Used a groupon voucher, but bought a starter and pudding each too. Service excellent, staff very friendly and happy to chat. Great food, pepper sauce is the best we've had, tender steak and amazing Alabama chocolate cake with cream, which they were happy to whip for my husband. We will come again ASAP and bring friends next time. Thanks to...

Went here late last month on a groupon deal. I wouldn't recommend it! Pub was old and run down. We both had steak which wasn't great and to be honest looked like oven food. Young lady serving us was obviously new and I took a while for her to understand simple requests like "can we have some mayo?". All in...

First time visiting the Stags head after buying a Groupon voucher, and we will definitely return at some point. The food was lovely, not top standard but still very good. The garlic mushrooms with pate in were superb, and the mains of Scampi and chicken curry were great. I was surprised how much i enjoyed the curry as I've never...

My last review of the Stag's Head was not favourable, though on that occasion the very long wait time and relatively poor quality of the food were because the place was so busy. My wife and I went there again at the weekend to meet with friends. The pub was less crowded and that made all the difference. The food...

Stayed here overnight. Room was spotlessly clean, fresh & comfortable, even if on the small size! Good choice of pub food that was reasonably priced, so were the drinks. Staff very friendly, particularly the lady who served us breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble.
